I can’t allow myself to enjoy how unconventionally attractive he is. It’ll just make my dick sad when I have to bash his pretty face in. I tap my bat against the front of his van as he moves to put the vehicle in drive, shaking my head with a scowl.

He rolls his eyes as he follows the same action with his window, and I take in as many details as possible. It’s an older vehicle, but it’s obvious he takes decent care of it. There isn’t any rust anywhere on the van, and the window doesn’t squeak or squeal either.

“What’s your deal?” I snarl. “Why are you following my omegas?”

The alpha’s scent hits me in the face at the same time his shock does, and his gaze hardens. However, I am much more preoccupied with the flavor of salted caramel pecans laying heavy on my tongue. Fuck me. I don’t give a fuck if he doesn’t like me checking his stalking. I want some answers.

“You mean my omega?” His voice is deep and gravely, and I ignore the way my dick perks up at the sound.

What the fuck does it know? Shit, this is so bad. This alpha is going to mean something to me, I can already tell. My dick has been pretty much dead unless I’ve been around or thinking about Arlo or Ves since I met them three days ago. Goddamnit!

“I might. Aren’t you hot?” I ask, glaring at his hoodie.

“It’s freezing in the van. Why does it matter?”

“If you get a heat stroke, you may not get to meet Ves and Arlo, now will you?”

Something tells me if Ves had already met this alpha, he’d have been more on edge around me. His spidey senses are why he works for the FBI. My private investigator friend is meeting up with me soon to deliver a dossier that should rival whatever shit law enforcement can get. Maybe better, because my guy has absolutely no morals about how he collects his data.

No one is better than Ryder Fishman. I’m just glad I caught him before he moved out to Minnesota.

“How the fuck do you know what I have and haven’t done?”

“It’s just a hunch,” I shrug. “You got a name, Alt boy?”

As we’ve talked, he’s shoved up the sleeves of his hoodie to expose the tattoos crawling up his skin. His hand rubs his buzzed head, and it makes me wonder if the peach fuzz I can see is soft or not.

Fuck, get it together, man. I can’t go touching random people’s heads! Except…he’s not random, is he?

“Really?”

“Without a name, I don’t have much to go off of. People call me ‘Viking guy', and my boxers don’t get in a bunch over it. Well, they wouldn’t if I wore them.”

Shit, I’m rambling.

“Baron. That has to be better than Alt Boy.” The disgust drips from his tongue, and I arrogantly adjust my cock.

“Lennox. See, now you don’t have to be anti-social. Which one are you following home?”

“I don’t understand why they’re separated,” he grumbles.

“Because Ves needs to finish pulling his head out of ass. I have a feeling Arlo got lucky with him recently. Did you notice how Ves couldn’t stop touching him?”

“I don’t like him.” Each word is bitten out and I tap my bat against my thigh.

“You need to learn how to share.” I feel like a parent speaking to a child right now. Ugh. If I’m not careful, his head will explode. I can already see the smoke coming out of his ears. “I promise it’s better if Ves gives into his feelings. Arlo likes him, and it’s important for him to be happy too.”

“I’m not an idiot.”

“Then don’t act like one.” I shrug because it really is that simple. “Do you want to head back to LA and keep watch over Arlo? I’m going to be circling around the area for work. I think we should divide and conquer until Ves decides to keep his nanny closer to him. I also have no idea how he’ll be able to survive without his daughter for extended periods of time. They’re close.”

“You know a lot about the happy little family,” Baron mutters.

“We’ve hung out a bit. Nothing crazy, and just so happened that we were in the area for a little kismet action. So, are you willing to work together? Arlo and Ves are both my scent matches. I won’t back down on this. You may as well keep me happy and do this my way.”

“Confident fucker.”

“Why yes. Thank you for noticing.” Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I hand it over to him. “Put your digits inside of it, and we’ll keep each other in the loop.”
