“No. Why?”
“I don’t share, Camilla.”
“Are you saying you want to be exclusive?”
“I’m saying that I don’t share.”
“Neither do I,” she whispered.
I smirked but didn’t respond as I stepped into the shower with her. I knew she had been married, and I also knew that she’d recently been divorced. It wasn’t finalized until a week after I’d first seen her. I wasn’t sure what the story was, but I would let her tell me in time.
I lifted her leg and wrapped it around my waist. With my hand around her throat, I stared into her eyes and entered her sanctity. She closed her walls around me, and she sighed with contentment as though she had been waiting for the moment.
Camilla was soft, and her walls were tight. She was just what I needed. It had been a while because I was selective about who I took as a lover, and those were only the women at the clubs.
“God, you feel so perfect,” I whispered against her lips.
She cried out, “This is what I need. You’re what I need, Jabari.”
She was what I needed, but I wasn’t ready to show her what she had gotten into—not yet.
11 – CAMILLA
TWO WEEKS LATER
I had spent almost every waking moment with Jabari when we weren’t at work over the last two weeks. We had made love repeatedly. There were times, though, that I felt he was holding something back. I wasn’t sure what, but I suspected a darker persona hovered underneath the man he showed me.
I had recorded plenty of our conversations over the weekend with the hope that he would release a nugget that I could unearth. Unfortunately, our conversations never circulated on business or personal lives, at least not his. We talked about my personal life, but he had a smooth way of escaping every discussion about his.
His diversionary tactics included: eating my pussy, coaxing me to ride his dick, taking back shots, and him feeding his dick down my throat.
I was taking my time pulling back the layers because if I pushed him too far and too fast, he would push me out. Playing with Jabari was more than I had bargained for. I was fiending for him like he was a bad drug. It was Thursday, four days later, and I couldn’t get him out of my mind. When I was alone in my office, I often pulled out my Vesper and brought myself to the orgasm that I couldn’t have at his hands.
I had called and texted him, but I had not heard anything back from him. Usually, things like that didn’t bother me, but I was starting to feel used and rejected when I knew that I shouldn’t even care.
After all, I was using him for a story, so why should I care if he used me for my body? It wasn’t like I hadn’t gotten anything out of it in return. Besides, the story was all I should have been caring about.
I pushed away from my desk and headed out of my office.
“Is everything okay?” Riann asked.
I slowed down and turned to face her at her desk. “Yeah. Uhm, I’ve just got some things to take care of,” I replied, fingering the chain attached to my Vesper.
“You sure? You’ve been a bit absentminded and distant this week,” Riann stated.
“I said I’m fine,” I replied in a snappish tone and turned away from her. I had only taken a few steps before I sighed and pulled my fingers through my hair. Patrick breezed past me on a phone call on the way to his office before I spun around to face Riann again. “I’m sorry, honey. I’ve got a lot on my mind.”
“I know. Just be careful, okay?”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“A man like him isn’t one that you want to toy with, Cami. You’re going to get hurt if you’re not careful. I know you want the story to pay for all this, but—”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” I replied and waved Riann off before I spun around again. I pushed through the glass doors with the words “ColorMe CEO” stenciled on them.
I turned back one more time, and this time Riann just gave me a sad smile before I walked toward the elevators. How did she know? Did anyone else know?
I couldn’t be bothered with those thoughts, not when I was on a mission. I needed to see him.
