She clung to me like a leech and with one arm around me, she spun to face the bank of reporters and camera men.
“Candy, are you dating Dr. Lowman?” A reporter shouted.
“Yes, we’re in a relationship. I guess it’s no longer a secret.”
What the fuck was wrong with this woman? I pushed her away from my side and didn’t reach out when she stumbled. Fortunately, she managed to regain her balance on her own.
I turned to the nearest reporter. “No, we are not in a relationship and never will be. Now, if you don’t mind, my date is waiting for me to take her back to the hotel.”
“You’ll pay for embarrassing me, Drew,” Candy screamed.
I ignored her and slid into the back of the limo. Linda tilted her head and gave me a questioning expression.
“Candy Wilson, Channel Nine. A pain in the arse.”
“Is there anything between you two?”
I turned slightly in the seat to face Linda. “Fuck, no. She’d like to believe we have a thing, but I can’t stand the woman and she’d be the last person on the planet that I’d have a fling with.”
“Fair enough. It’s pretty obvious she has a crush on you and I can’t say I blame her.”
The limo pulled up at our hotel and I waited for the driver to open the door before stepping out and offering Linda my hand. She accepted it willingly. I loved the feel of her soft skin against mine. I thanked the driver, led my lady through a set of glass doors and towards the bank of elevators.
When we stepped inside the lift, I asked, “Your room or mine?”
“Either, what floor are you on?”
“Eleventh.”
“I’m on fifteen, yours is closer.”
“In a hurry, Miss Freemont?”
“Yes. I’ve been drooling over you all night in that tux. You have no idea how good you look, but I’d much rather see you in nothing at all.”
I pressed the button for the eleventh floor and turned to take Linda into my arms.
“Miss Freemont, I do believe you are being very forward. What happened to the lady who insisted she was going to take it slow and keep it light? The woman who wanted to do her own thing for a while.”
“Change of mind, are you complaining?”
“Absolutely not.”
The elevator bell dinged and the doors whooshed open. I gripped Linda’s hand tightly as we hurried towards my room. We stood side by side as I slid the card into a slot on the door, a green light came on and I pushed the door open. After Linda had stepped inside, I followed. It was going to be a very long night. Once I had my hands on this gorgeous woman, I knew I would never let her go.
CHAPTER TWELVE
I led Linda through to the bedroom of my suite and to the side of the bed. She placed her purse down on the bedside table and reached to take off the necklace she was wearing. I stilled her hands.
“Leave it on.”
She nodded and electricity zapped back and forth between us as our eyes locked. Her eyes had darkened to the color of storm clouds and I could see she wanted this as much as I did, but I still wanted her to be perfectly sure.
“This is what you want?”
“Yes.”
That was all the permission I needed. I placed my hands gently on each side of her face and lowered my lips over hers. My tongue delved inside her mouth to tangle and twist with its mate. Her mouth was warm, her lips soft. I lowered my hands to the back of her dress and slowly drew down the zipper. Her deft fingers unfastened my belt, plucked free the button of my pants, lowered the zipper and searched out my already rock-hard cock. I flinched when she slipped her hand beneath the band of my briefs and wrapped her fingers around me. I swallowed her moan of satisfaction before moving back slightly.
