He turned Jack around gently, pressing him forward against the edge of the tub.

"Yeah?" Luke murmured against Jack's ear.

Jack's breath caught. "Yeah. God, yes."

Luke kissed down Jack's neck, his spine, taking his time, although Jack felt Luke’s hard cock brush against his leg. He spread Jack open, and when Luke pressed inside, Jack made that sound, a moan, an oomph, a grunt from somewhere deep inside him.

"Good?" Luke asked, holding still as Jack adjusted.

"So good." Jack pushed back slightly. "Move. Please."

Luke did, steady and deep, his hands gripping Jack's hips as Jack braced against the tub's edge. The water lapped and sloshed between them, steam rising in the cool night air.

The stars wheeled overhead. The mountain was silent except for their breathing, the water, and the small sounds Jack made when Luke hit that spot inside him.

Jack came with a shout that echoed off the mountains, his whole body shaking.

Luke followed moments later, pressing his forehead between Jack's shoulder blades, feeling Jack's heart hammering and his breath coming in gasps.

They stayed like that for a long moment, the water settling warm around them.

Then Jack laughed—breathless, amazed—and Luke joined him, carefully pulling out and turning Jack around to kiss him.

"Jesus," Jack said against his mouth.

"Yeah."

They soaked a while longer, wrapped around each other, fingers pruned, stars bright overhead.

Eventually, they made their way inside for a long, hot shower, washing each other with slow, careful hands, and then to bed.

Jack built up the fire while Luke settled under the covers with Marley at his feet.

"This has been the night of my life,” Jack said in the glow, pulling Luke close. “I don’t want just to handle things anymore. I want to build them with you and share everything with you. I meant it before, and I’ll never stop meaning it or saying it. I love you, Luke. I love you so much."

Luke took Jack's hand in his and kissed it.

"I love you, too,” Luke said, pulling Jack’s hand over his heart.

CHAPTER 44

JACK

Sunday morning arrived without alarms or calls. No one knocked at the door. Neither man needed to be anywhere else. A band of light slowly swept across the high-thread-count sheets of the Summit Spire.

Jack woke first. He didn’t move.

Luke lay on his side, facing away, with one arm bent under the pillow, his breathing slow and even.

Jack watched him for a long moment, then let his eyes close again.

They drifted in and out of sleep until Luke stirred, rolled onto his back, and blinked up at the ceiling.

“Morning,” Jack said quietly.

Luke turned his head. His expression softened when he saw him.

“Hey.”
