He rolled his eyes. “Still, breakups suck.”

My face scrunched up. “He was an idiot.” And a psycho.

“Can we not talk about him?” He laid his head down on my lap and pulled the blanket he was covered with higher. “Seriously, I just want to put him behind me.”

Brushing his hair out of his face, I focused on his closed eyes and long eyelashes that rested against his tanned cheeks. I had many questions to ask and even more things to tell him, but perhaps now wasn’t the time.

“Sure.”

“Thank you,” he whispered softly before grabbing my hand and bringing it to his lips. “I love you.” He kissed the back of my hand.

“I love you, too—”

“Oh,” he cut in and turned around to face me. “Do you mind if I move in? I kinda need a place to stay.”

“You want to live… here?” I looked around my rather small place. “Who are you, and what did you do with my brat?”

“Ha-ha,” he fake laughed.

“Of course you can stay here,” I said with a goofy smile. “I’m just worried you’ll get sick of it.”

His lips pulled up before he looked at me with pure love. “I don’t care if we live in a tent. As long as I have you there, I seriously don’t give a fuck.”

My heart fluttered, and I think my cheeks turned a bit hotter, but it was probably because of my nose. Either way, I was fucking pumped. With a cough, I cleared my throat, then poked his forehead. “Seriously, what did you do with my Shay-Lee?”

Closing his eyes, he let out a big yawn. “I guess he just missed you way too fucking much.”

Yeah, I get that.

“Although, we will need a place for my clothes. Maybe we can check if the apartment upstairs is empty. I can always buy the whole building.”

Ah. There he was.

“How about you go to sleep, and we’ll figure out the rest of it tomorrow?” I offered, unable to contain my smile because I was absolutely hyped.

“Sounds good,” he murmured, half-asleep already.

At last, I have him home.

With my bike parked in front of Shay-Lee’s office, I leaned against it and waited for the brat to come out. Checking my phone for the time, I snorted. He said he’d be done almost thirty minutes ago, and yet, there I was, waiting. Not that I minded since now I had all the time in the world.

After I gave Dion the name of his mole, the French fucker actually let me go. He snapped his fingers, and just like that, I was fucking free. When he first told me he planned on cutting my debt by one year, I thought he was bullshitting me, but it turned out he wasn’t. It had been weeks since I’d last heard from him or Gale, and I didn’t miss them in the slightest. The only one who still contacted me was Oro, who had a hard time with my leaving. Well, tough shit ’cause ain’t no fucking way I was going back to that hell.

“There you are,” I said with a grin as Shay-Lee stepped out of the building and ran toward me. I pushed away from my bike just in time to catch him after he threw himself at me.

He immediately latched himself to me with his arms and legs wrapped around my body and his face nuzzled in my neck. “I missed you,” he spoke, his lips ghosting my skin.

I took a moment to inhale his sweet scent that I was a sucker for before kissing his head.

“Missed you, too, Llorón.”

He pulled back from the tight hug to look at me. “Aww.” He brushed his finger over my almost healed nose. “The cute bandage is gone,” he said as I put him back down.

“Well, it’s been three weeks.” I rubbed the bridge of my nose, which now had a small bump that wasn’t there before.

“Fuck, does time fly,” he chuckled, then took the helmet I handed him and put it on.
