From what I’ve seen, my brother’s council is opinionated as fuck. Almost to the point that he doesn’t have control. At least not without a death grip on it.

“Good.” Yooper’s eyes dart to me. “I want you to pick a team of four to go with you. Anyone you want. You do this your way. Just get back here safely with no issues.”

I tip my chin. “Understood.”

Aragon stands up so fast his chair shoots away from him and hits the wall.

“You’re going to regret this,” Aragon proclaims before stomping out of the room.

“He’s like a goddamn toddler, throwing a fit because he didn’t get his way,” I mutter under my breath.

One of the guys coughs, trying to cover up a laugh, but everyone else stays quiet. Yooper shoots me a dirty look, and I raise my hands, silently apologizing.

It’s not my fault that sometimes my internal thoughts slip through. Honestly, he should be happy that I restrain myself as much as I do.

I keep a solid seventy-five percent of my thoughts to myself.

I clear my throat and get back on track. “When do you want me to leave with my team?”

“Immediately. Pick your team of four and hit the road.” Yooper says.

Nodding, I look over at Yukon. “You want to get out of here for a bit?”

He tips his chin. “Count me in.”

My eyes move to Wolverine. “You want in?”

“Always. I enjoy the chaos. Let’s get it,” Wolverine confirms.

“Meet me outside in twenty,” I tell them as I stand.

Without waiting for Yooper’s dismissal, I leave the chapel and pull my phone out.

I shoot out a quick text to Mowtown and Timbit, asking them if they want in. They text back immediately, and I tell them where to meet. Then I send the same text to Sap and Poutine individually.

Me

Hey, I have to leave for a bit. Can you keep an eye on my old lady? She’s at the clubhouse.

Poutine responds first.

Poutine

You got it.

Me

Thanks.

As soon as I close out of that message, Sap’s comes through.

Sap

Let me finish up here, and I’ll head that way.

Me

Thanks.
