A big whump of want lands in my lower belly.

But what's the silver chain about?

Kieran looks at me, then looks at the bed and then looks back at me, his dark eyes oh so serious. "Okay?"

My throat suddenly too dry to speak, I nod my head.

I trust him.

Whatever he's got planned, it's for my pleasure.

I reach behind myself to unzip my sundress, but Kieran's hands are there gently pushing mine out of the way. "Let me."

"You want to undress me?" I tease, not even a little surprised.

This man likes to be in control.

"You're my gift to unwrap," he says, like that explains everything, as he lowers the zip.

No one has ever seen me as a gift before.

I bite my bottom lip. "I'm a gift?"

He groans. "That emoji of you biting your lip makes me hard. If I'd been alone when we were texting, I would have jacked off after you sent it last night."

"It's a worried emoji," I explain.

It turned him on? With an emoji?

"It reminded me of when you do it." He brushes his thumb along my lower lip. "And I liked knowing you were worried about me."

"Yeah?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Yeah." He slides the straps of my sundress down my shoulders, revealing my braless state. "No one has worried about me since my mom died."

"Now, you have a whole gaggle of girls and women worried about you." And one woman who needs him like air.

"You and the girls are the reason." He cups my breasts. "If I'd known your tits were naked under your dress, my hand would have been down your bodice when I got to the office."

I gasp as he brushes both thumbs over my big raspberry nipples. "Not in front of your men."

He scowls. "That office needs real walls, not windows."

"Uh…" I list toward him. "Okay."

Remembering what he said before melting my panties with his visceral desire to touch my boobs, I ask, "The reason for what?"

"The reason not to get lost in the darkness."

The words shudder through me. Suddenly, I don't want to hold in my own words anymore.

"Kieran…" I pause, a wave of terror at admitting something so big to a man I've known such a short amount of time crashing over me.

"What is it, baby girl?"

As quickly as it came, the terror dissipates. Our souls are entwined. And that's not something that can be measured in time.

It just is.
