"Testimony."
Haruki exhaled in his ear.
The immediate threat ended without ceremony. No final explosion. No triumphant silence. Only surviving men restrained on concrete and charges disconnected by Ishida technicians. The ideology remained. Hayashi had not invented it. Isao had not. Mori had not. Sota had not. Each had inherited a different answer to the same fear. Truth. Control. Safety. Choice.
The Casino speakers activated. Ken's voice.
"Movement at main entrance."
Renji looked up.
"Hostile?"
A pause.
"No."
Another voice entered the system. Calm. Familiar.
Sota.
"I came alone."
Renji went still. Haruki's breathing changed through the radio. Not fear. Recognition. The last force entering the field.
Sota continued.
"I am unarmed."
Mori answered from the gaming floor.
"You are under Accord arrest."
"No."
The word carried mild regret.
"I am here for the people you failed to control."
Isao. The white-banded faction. The surviving Unveiled.
Renji began walking back towards the stairs. Haruki said his name.
"Renji."
"Yes."
"Wait for me."
"You cannot come down."
"I'm already moving."
Renji stopped. Above, through the building's circulation, he felt Haruki leave the balcony. Slowly. Supported by Ken. Alive. Choosing to stand beside him despite pain.
Renji closed his eyes for one second. Then continued.
When he reached the gaming floor, the battle had ended. Shattered glass covered the carpet. The wounded were beingtreated beside overturned tables. Riku remained with his mother. Mina stood protectively near them. Isao knelt in restraints. Mori waited between the Casino doors and the central floor.
