"No."
"Who, then?"
"Those frightened by it."
Haruki leaned back slightly.
"You expect us to believe you did not choose the name used in your own messages."
"The first public statement was released under another title. It was called naïve. The second was called dangerous. Afterthe first records were revealed, the Accord referred to those responsible as the Unveiled."
"So you adopted it."
"It was accurate."
Renji's gaze remained fixed on Sota.
"What records?"
"You have seen some of them."
"The Archive."
"Yes."
Haruki felt Ken shift beside the doorway. Sota noticed that too. Nothing escaped him.
"You funded the historians," Renji said.
"I helped them gain access."
"You knew what they would find."
"I suspected."
"They were murdered."
Sota's expression changed. Not dramatically. The warmth left his eyes.
"I know."
"By your people?"
"No."
"You are certain."
"Yes."
"Because?"
"Because I knew the people who died."
Renji's voice cooled.
"That is not proof."
