When he opened the door, he let out a small yelp when he came face-to-face with a nervous-looking Wolfgang on the other side.
“Oh. It’s you.”
Wolfgang appeared to be well on the road to recovery.
“Can I come in?” Wolfgang asked.
Against his better judgment, Sam stood aside. Wolfgang walked past him. Instantly the room felt smaller and the oaky scent of the handsome German dominated everything.
“We found the squid,” Sam said, leaning against the windowsill.
“Sorry?”
“I said we found the squid. I thought you’d be interested.”
“Oh.”
He had the decency to look utterly miserable whilst still being incredibly sexy in his Lycra running gear. Now Sam knew what lay under there, it made him want it all the more.
“Can I sit?”
Sam sniffed. “I suppose you should. You’ve only been out of hospital for a few days. Mind you, I can see that Claudia hasbeen doing a wonderful job of tending to your every need. What a lucky man you are.”
Wolfgang sat on the edge of the bed. He reached out and grabbed for Sam’s hand, who jerked it away.
“Oh, no touchy-touchy, Wolfie. What would Claudia think?”
If Wolfgang had expected an easy ride, then he’d bashed his head harder than Sam had realised.
“I wanted to tell you about her,” Wolfgang explained. “I would have done over dinner. Then they turned up out of the blue and I didn’t have a chance. I had no idea they were coming. You have to believe that.”
Sam sank down on the bed too. Making sure he was well out of Wolfgang’s reach. He needed a clear head for this.
“Don’t you see? It makes no difference,” Sam replied. “I felt like the biggest slut on the block being confronted by your fucking fiancée.”
Wolfgang hung his head. “I know. I am so sorry.”
To Sam’s dismay, he actually started to feel bad for him. The misery etched on his face had to be genuine. No one was that good an actor.
“So what now?” Sam asked.
“What do you mean?”
“Are they staying for the month? Are you moving out? What?”
Wolfgang rubbed his head. The bandage had gone. Leaving a hell of a bruise. He must have gone back to the hospital. Tendrils of jealousy invaded Sam when he visualised Claudia holding his hand this time.
“I don’t know,” Wolfgang said. “I missed you so much I wanted to come. I can’t stay long. I told them I needed to pick some things up.”
Once again, he reached out and rested his hand on Sam’s knee. This time he didn’t move away. Wolfgang’s hand restedthere, heat burning through Sam’s cotton trousers. The rest of his body screamed for attention.
Talk about being completely weak at the knees. He expected better from himself.
Wolfgang stared into his eyes as he ran his hand up Sam’s thigh. The light fabric of his trousers couldn’t disguise the fact that his cock had sprung to life. Sam tried to move out of his reach but Wolfgang came forward so his face sat mere centimetres away.
“I have missed you so much,” he whispered.
“You said.”
