I snake my arms around Jessie’s waist, holding her close. “Gregorio gave us both a family, princess.”

Jessie smiles up at me. “You’d better be more than a good time, Corso DeLuca.”

I give her bottom a squeeze. “I’m the adventure of a lifetime, former special agent. I promise.”

CHAPTER NINETEEN-DELETED SCENE

CORSO DELUCA by Siera London

They sent Jessie to me, a tempting distraction to weaken my defenses.

Her storming into The Governor, into my mafia kingdom, with demands triggered the opposite reaction.

She awoke my beast—my lust—my savagery. It’s a mistake that will cost us both.

Jessie will pay my price with her body and soul.

And me… Those who will come for her are in the hunt for my blood.

I thirst for the battle ahead… and know this.

I will tear flesh from bone, night from darkness, and scorch the earth and sea to keep what’s mine.

And Jessie NuCalla is all mine.

Test me MF… I dare you.

Jessie

Downtown DC is pretty in early spring. It’s not too cold, but I have a puffer jacket in the backseat. The wind rustles the cherry blossom trees along the National Mall, and the chill kisses away the ever-present heat of my skin. I feel carefree, weightless even. For a woman who stretches every seam of sized eighteen jeans, that’s pretty damn uplifting.

“Jessie, you’re supposed to debrief Captain this afternoon. Are you even in the building?”my partner, Special Agent Donovan Teal, rasps through my Tesla’s audio system.

“There’s something I need to handle first. Cover for me.” Silence falls, and I’m about to repeat my request, but his baritone voice cuts me off.

“What in the actual fuck?”

What I’m doing is reckless and insane. Corso is a mafioso. A criminal. A killer. “You don’t need me for that. Tell her what you know about the case Teal.”

“Like, you’re actually meeting with him… a DeLuca?” I can hear the hurt and outrage in Donovan’s voice.

“Spare me the reminders of Corso’s brutality. I know he’s a savage.” After he let me go, I had every intention of running fast and hard in the other direction. I should’ve disappeared, but… something intangible happened between us that night. When he pulled me into his arms and touched every square inch of skin covering my ample curves, he handled me like the most delicate porcelain. Yes, he pushed me to the edge. But when I teetered over the edge, free falling without a safety net, instead of pain, all I felt was pleasure. He demanded, yet he gave me more than he took. That's more than I've gotten from a man of any age.

And the succulent morsels he fed me as I sat naked in his lap cradling his thick cock… whew chile. I’ve hooked up with guys who looked at me as if I stole something if I drank a cup of the complimentary coffee in the hotel room. I mean, what woman wouldn't be impressed with great dick and delicious food? But the real cherry on my whipped cream is that he actually showed up in the parking lot, surrounded by law enforcement, to invite me to lunch.

“Call me the second you’re done with Corso.” Ridge chuffs. I imagine him raking deep tracks through his thick mane.

It’s a mistake to see the man behind the monster my agency has been tracking for the last two years. How he’s managed to keep his ownership of The Governor Hotel under the radar is sheer wizardry. Literally, the most ruthless crime family on the eastern seaboard owns one of the premier hotels in the nation’s capital. How the hell does that happen under the nose of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force? My job is to find out.

“Will do.” I smile, though he can’t see it, reaching for the button to disconnect the call. I pause when I hear my name.

“Jessie,” he sighs, the sound is heavy with concern.
