“Boss?”

“Escort Patrick from the club and make sure everyone knows he’s not welcome.”

“Darling, you can’t be serious?—”

“I told you I was done. Just because someone else has my time doesn’t mean you get to show up to remind me we were anything to begin with.”

I walked closer and saw Soren stiffen just before my gaze swung to the slim, hot guy who was wearing a flowery shirt and black slacks. His hair was long like Soren’s but brown instead of Soren’s white, and while Soren wore his down, this guy had it braided and hanging over his shoulder.

His dark eyes narrowed on me. “Him?” His nose scrunched like he was smelling shit. “You’ve invited him up here?” His expression cleared, and then he started laughing. He tried to reach for Soren’s cheek, maybe to pat it, but Soren smacked it away, which flung his arm wide. Patrick smirked. “Have your fun, darling. I know this won’t last.” With that, he spun and walked away.

“Follow him out, Joseph. Make sure he knows he’s not invited back.” Soren stepped clear of the door before he slammed it closed. He spun my way. “I understand if you wish to leave.”

I cocked a brow. Why did he always think I was going to leave? “Why is your ex showin’ up after a year?”

“He doesn’t want me, and yet he wants me with no one else. At least no one he thinks could lead to a lasting relationship.”

“So I gather he thinks we ain’t gonna last.”

“Correct.”

“Is this just a roll in the sack?” I asked.

My gut clenched at the thought of him saying it was. Originally, I’d been all for a quick tumble in the sheets, but after being here, around Soren, I already knew I wanted more time with him.

He was addictive. I wasn’t done having him in all the ways I wanted.

I wanted this to stick.

For how long, I didn’t have a clue, but for a while at least, because if I thought about anyone else touching Soren, my blood boiled.

That intense feeling was strange, especially for a person I hardly knew, but I wanted to ride this out and see where it could go between us.

However, if Soren didn’t want that…. Christ, the thought made me want to puke.

What the hell was going on with me?

Huh, maybe he did suck my brain out through my cock.

Soren licked his lips and gave me a thin-lipped soft smile. “I would like to see you again.”

Fuck me.

Yes.

Grinning, I winked. “Sounds good to me.” Clapping, I rubbed my hands together. “Now, I wanna get back to suckin’ my first dick.”

He threw his head back and laughed, his soft hair swaying with his mirth. After he got himself under control, he walked up to stop right in front of me and trailed a finger over my jaw. “You are charming.”

I jerked a little, shocked, brows rising. “By telling you I want to suck you?”

His lips twitched. “For breaking me out of my thoughts of going on a murdering spree and making me laugh instead. Which I haven’t done in a long time.”

Smirking, I curled an arm around his waist and tugged him against me. “Baby, you just haven’t had the right people around you.”

He hummed under his breath. “I believe that to be true.”

“I’m the right kinda person for you.”
