Very different from my little cabin in the woods. I’d never been very good at home decorating. My moms and sister had, on more than one occasion, broken into my place to “add some furniture” so it didn’t look like I was a “lonely werewolf bachelor.”

The kitchen was through the living room and had a wall of windows that looked out to the grove of trees surrounding hisplace. I wandered toward the windows, wondering how far the forest went.

“Do you like running?” I asked as he opened the fridge.

“I do,” he said. “I usually run every morning.”

Well then.I swallowed hard and glanced back at him. His hair was disheveled and I noted a couple scratch marks I’d left on him. Luckily, I hadn’t drawn any blood.

“Do you have any allergies, Steel?”

“No,” I said, peeling away from the windows towards the bar. I leaned over the smooth counter top, watching him with a half smile. He’d slipped an apron over his body, so now he wore only that and his underwear. Ugh, maybe I had a kink for DILFs in aprons. It was the perfect view. “Do you?”

“Nope. Any foods you don’t like?”

“I’m not much of a sweets guy,” I said.

“Oof, I am. You could feed me pancakes every day and I’d be happy. I don’t think the rest of my body would be though.”

“I bet you make a damn good pancake.”

“I sure do.” He flashed me a grin as he lit the burner. Blue flames burst as he put a skillet over it, melting some butter in the center. “I’ll make us some omelets and a small salad. I know what you must be thinking—a salad is not a breakfast item. But I promise you’ll love mine.”

“I believe you. And really, it’s brunch time, isn’t it?”

Oliver laughed. “It is. Fair point.”

“Would you like any help?”

“Absolutely not. The kitchen is my domain. You’re not allowed in here unless it’s to sit there and look pretty. Or rugged. Pretty and rugged?”

I found myself grinning again as I watched Oliver cook us breakfast. He was clearly in his element and eventually started singing to himself under his breath as he chopped and stirred.

Would this be our life?

I wanted it to be.

The back of my neck heated as I watched him, and finally, I closed my eyes—trying to push away the driving need to be mated immediately.

It was starting to dawn on me that my rut was just getting started.

All was going splendidly until I dropped a piece of omelette in my lap.

Without missing a beat, Steel slid to his knees out of the chair and ate it. But then froze, looking up at me with the softest, most submissive eyes I’d ever seen.

“Fuck,” I whispered.

“Sorry,” he said, starting to get back up. “That was maybe too much. I thought I’d help, but maybe?—”

Before he could retreat, I slid my hand around the back of his neck and dragged his face toward my crotch. There was just a thin layer of fabric between his mouth and my quickly hardening cock. He moaned as I rocked my hips against him, showing him just how hard he’d just made me.

“Did you finish eating?” I asked, eyeing his plate on the table. There was still some salad left, but I’d noticed him getting antsy the longer we sat and talked. Truthfully, he felt like someone I could talk to all day long and never get bored of.

But, both of us were restless. Coming once hadn’t been enough. And Steel? He needed more, clearly. His rut seemed to be driving him wild.
