I kissed the big red mark I left on her neck and rubbed my hand slow across her stomach while she stayed laid back against me. Then I turned my face enough to kiss her temple before lookin’ down at her.
“Come here,” I murmured, even though I already had her exactly where I wanted her.
Sha’Nelle looked up at me, and I could see everything she wasn’t sayin’ sittin’ in those damn eyes. I ain’t need her to tell me shit right then ‘cause I felt it too.
We had spent the whole day together, and somewhere between breakfast, walkin’ around Midtown, laughin’ at stupid shit and me keepin’ my hands all over her every chance I got, it had started feelin’ like us again.
I kissed her forehead one more time before lookin’ into her eyes. “Lemme take care of you tonight. You ain’t gotta worry ‘bout shit.”
Sha’Nelle stared at me for a few seconds before settlin’ back against my chest, and I left it right there. I ain’t need to push for an answer ‘cause the way she relaxed against me told me enough for right now.
I held her through the rest of the ride while the last of the sunlight disappeared. Every now and then I kissed her forehead or rubbed my hand along her arm, but mostly I just sat here with her. I had spent the last four days doin’ everything I could think of to get this woman to give me some of her time, and now I had got a whole damn day.
When the carriage finally circled back around, I climbed out first and reached up for Sha’Nelle. She put her hand in mine, and I helped her down before tippin’ and noddin’ at the driver. Then we walked back toward where we parked.
I kept her hand in mine the whole way.
When we reached the whip, I opened the passenger door and waited while Sha’Nelle got inside. She looked up at me before I closed it, and the way she was lookin’ at me now was completely different from how she had been lookin’ at me when we first left her mama house this mornin’.
I closed her door, walked around and got behind the wheel. By then, the sun was gone.
I started the car and glanced over at Sha’Nelle while she settled into the passenger seat. Her hair was still pushed away from the side of her neck, and that mark I left on her was sittin’ right there where I could see it.
I rubbed my hand across my mouth and pulled away from the curb.
I ain’t ask Sha’Nelle if she was ready to go home ‘cause I wasn’t takin’ her there.
I ain’t have no plans of takin’ her back to her mama house no time soon.
Greystone City
Drivin’ back to the Airbnb, I smoked with ‘Nelle while she sat in the passenger seat with one leg crossed over the other. I hit the blunt a couple times, held the smoke in for a second and passed it back to her before puttin’ my hand on her thigh. Her skin was warm under my palm, and I rubbed on her slow while keepin’ my eyes on the road.
She took a pull and looked over at me, but she ain’t say nothin’. I glanced at her for a second, caught the way her eyes was sittin’ on me and looked back toward the road before I ended up drivin’ us into some shit. After spendin’ the whole day with her, I was in a good ass mood. I had woke up this mornin’ not knowin’ how much of her I was gon’ get, and now she wasridin’ back to the Airbnb with me while I had my hand halfway up her thick ass thigh.
I squeezed it and looked over at her again. “You good mama?”
“I’m good,” she answered before passin’ the blunt back.
I took it from her and brought it to my mouth. “You quiet.”
“I’m just chillin’,” she said while lookin’ out the window. “Today was nice.”
That made me smile a lil’ ‘cause I knew she meant that shit. “Yeah, it was.”
I left it there and kept drivin’.
By the time we made it back to the Airbnb, it was dark outside and ‘Nelle was leaned back in the seat, high and relaxed.
I pulled up to the gate, punched the code in and waited for it to open before drivin’ through. Soon as the house came into view, ‘Nelle sat up and looked through the windshield.
“This house big as hell,” she said as she looked over at me.
I pulled around toward the front. “Come back to Trill-Land with me and I’ll get you some shit bigger than this.”
She looked at me for a few seconds before breakin’ eye contact, and I could see her swallow as she turned back toward the windshield. I ain’t press her about it. I pulled up in front of the house, parked and got out before walkin’ around to open her door.
‘Nelle grabbed her purse and took my hand as she stepped out. I locked the car behind us and walked her toward the house, then opened the front door and let her go in first.
