We laid here a lil’ longer before I finally pushed myself up. “I gotta pee,” I told him as I climbed out the bed.

Couture gave my naked ass a light smack when I moved past him, and I looked back at him before grabbin’ my phone off the nightstand.

I smiled and shook my head as I headed toward the bathroom.

I closed the bathroom door behind me and looked down at my phone, expectin’ to see a couple random notifications.Instead, the first thing that caught my attention was my mama’s name. She had called me more than once.

My brows pulled together ‘cause my mama wasn’t the type to keep callin’ me back to back for no reason, especially this late. I unlocked my phone and called her right back while I sat down to use the bathroom.

She answered almost immediately, and I could tell somethin’ wasn’t right before she even got into it.

“Mama, what’s wrong?” I asked.

“Where you at?” She asked instead of answerin’ me.

The way she asked had me sittin’ up straighter. “Why? What happened?”

“Renza outside my house,” she told me.

My whole face changed. “What?”

“I said Renza is outside my damn house, Sha’Nelle, and he keep leavin’ and comin’ back,” my mama repeated.

For a second, I just sat here with the phone against my ear ‘cause I was tryna make sure I heard her correctly.

Renza… outside my mama’s damn house… in Greystone City.

I closed my eyes and rubbed my forehead ‘csuse there was only one reason this nigga would be at my mama’s house lookin’ for me. I had blocked him after everything that happened in Trill-Land, so if he had been callin’ me, I wouldn’t have known shit about it.

I looked toward the closed bathroom door before lowerin’ my voice. “How long he been out there?” I whispered to my mama.

“A while,” she answered. “He pulled up, sat out there, left and then came right back. I’on know what the hell he got goin’ on, but you need to come deal with this shit.”

“Did you go outside?” I asked her, already knowin’ my mama well enough to be worried about that.

“No, but I’m about to,” she warned me.

“Mama, don’t,” I told her real quick, runnin’ my fingers through my hair. “Please don’t go out there startin’ no shit with him.”

“I ain’t startin’ nothin’, but he outside my house, Sha’Nelle,” my mama argued. “I’m not finna keep lookin’ out my window at this man sittin’ out there actin’ crazy.”

I sighed ‘cause that was exactly what I was worried about. Renza had already proved he wasn’t above doin’ the absolute most when it came to me, and my mama wasn’t the type of woman who was gon’ sit inside her own house scared of somebody outside. The last thing I needed was the two of ‘em goin’ back and forth while I was across town laid up with Couture.

“I’m comin’,” I assured her. “Just stay in the house until I get there, please.”

“You need to hurry up,” my mama told me.

“I said I’m comin’, Mama. Give me a minute,” I replied before we hung up.

I lowered the phone and stared at the screen.

I knew Renza had the means to get on a plane or whenever the hell he felt like it, so him physically bein’ here wasn’t the unbelievable part. It was the fact that this nigga had really traveled all the way from Trill-Land and went straight to my mama’s house knowin’ how disrespectful that was to me.

I swallowed hard and rubbed my hand across my forehead. This was exactly what I meant when I said Renza did too damn much.

It was never enough for him to let me have a minute to think. If I blocked him, he found another way to get to me. If I walked away from an argument, he followed me. If I told him I needed space, the nigga decided what I really needed was his ass showin’ up wherever I was. And the fucked up part was that my heart was racin’ ‘cause he was here.

I hated that shit….
