She slipped into bed.

“How are you feeling?” he asked. She looked like her normal self again.

They’d skipped lounging by the pool, instead spending the entire afternoon in the botanical garden filled with exotic plants, birds, and small mammals from around the galaxy then returned to the hotel restaurant for dinner. He’d ordered the Solar Flare Fare. Although it wasn’tquiteas good as Mama’s solar flare box meal, he found it very tasty and enjoyable. Michaela had played it safe, getting the Lunar Lunch again, since she could eat it without adverse effects.

“No itching?” he verified.

“I’ve got an itch, but not one caused by food.”

He cocked his head and grinned. “I have a bit of an itch myself.”

“Just a bit?”

He flung off the covers, revealing his erection. “Quite a bit.”

“Let me scratch it for you.” She crawled over him and kissed him. Her soft breasts brushed his naked chest, and, through the thin fabric of her nightie, he could feel the hard point of her nipples. He cupped her breasts as their lips moved together and their tongues caressed.

Her warm breath teased as she kissed and nibbled his throat, before scooting downward to his chest. She flicked her tongue over his nipples, sending a shaft of sensation to his hard-on, before moving lower to kiss his abdomen and then take his cock in her mouth.

He drew in air through his teeth at the hot pleasure. He tangled his hands in her hair as she sucked and played with his cock, driving him to the brink of orgasm, and then pushing him over. Stars burst behind his eyes as he climaxed.

Her smug grin demanded a hard kiss and a proper comeback. He grabbed the hem of her flimsy nightie. “Good choice. Take it off.” He pulled it over her head, flung it away, then lowered her onto her back.

He lifted her legs onto his shoulders and buried his face in her pussy.

Her cries and movements got him hard again, and when she was shuddering and begging for release, he slipped between her thighs and surged into her. He rocked and swiveled, and when she came with a moan, clamping tight around him, he climaxed again in a supernova-burst of ecstasy.

He nuzzled her neck while his breathing and heart rate returned to normal. She smoothed her hands over his back in long strokes. She lifted her chin, and he kissed her.

“Itch all gone?” she asked.

“For the moment.” He rolled off her and tucked her against his shoulder, maintaining a closeness that was deeper than physical. He’d never been so content, and he wished he could hang onto the feeling forever. “You make me…very happy…complete,” he said.

Whole. She’d made him whole again. After the attack, he’d become a shell of himself, believing the best part of his life had ended. But now it felt like the best part was just beginning. He would never be the warrior he had been, but Michaela had made him believe he wasenoughthe way he was. He couldn’t regain his military career, and he would always limp, but if he pleased her, then he wasenough.

Phuk, he would miss her when she left. They had months left of her term, but the time would streak by.

“You make me happy, too,” she said. “You entice me…to want to stay.”

His heart skipped a beat. “On Luturna.”

She hesitated, and hope nosedived. “With you,” she finally answered.

He cradled her head as his heart thudded like crazy. “I would love that. Is that something you’d consider?”

“If I could find a way.”

“You mean your agency.”

“Yeah. Opening an investigations firm and being my own boss is my big dream, and I don’t see how I could do it here. I’m not a citizen, and your planet has strict immigration policies.”

True. Tourist or temporary work visas were easy enough to acquire; however, legal residency and citizenship took years. After passing a thorough background check, one had to prove he or she would be an asset to the planet. Then, after securing an extended work permit, an individual had to log five years of steady employment, after which, he or she took a rigorous citizenship test.

“It would be almost impossible to open my agency anyplace but Earth. I’d have to split my time between my planet and yours. Travel back and forth on a vacation visa.”

“Wouldn’t the space flights cost a lot?”

“A lot,” she agreed. “I might be able to operate from a space station, work out office space in trade, which would put me closer. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. I need to investigate the options. Fortunately, investigation is in my wheelhouse.”
