“I am.”She moved away from his touch when she could stretch her neck and move easily.“I’m going to be more sore tomorrow, aren’t I?”

“I’m afraid so.”He leaned against the railing that was near where she was standing.Just as she was going to go to him for a kiss, he pulled her to his body.Their bodies were chest to chest and groin to groin. She could even feel his erection.Blake looked up at him.“I’ve fallen in love with you.Just in the few short days that we’ve known one another, I’ve fallen deeply in love with you.”

Leaning his head down to her mouth, she felt a whisper of a kiss from his mouth. He brushed his mouth over hers back and forth before he took possession.Just as she was ready to wrap her arms around him to have him deepen the kiss, he stiffened and pulled his head away.

“My grandda is coming out here.”She asked him to tell him to go away.“I would, but he’s on a mission from my grandma. She wants to know if you want to spend the night here so that you don’t have to deal with your sister anymore.”

“Hello, the barn.”She giggled when Frank leaned into the barn doors and yelled.“I have me a couple of questions for the two of you, and I’m afraid it can’t wait until morning.Blake, honey, would you like to spend the night here?Reagan knows he’s going to be welcome, but I wanted to let you knowthat you’d be welcome too.We got plenty of room around here.”

“I don’t know, Frank.I don’t want to put you out.”He came all the way into the barn and saw the way that two of them were close.Even from across the room, she could see his cheeks getting pink.“What will your kids say if they knew that we were staying here?”

“They’d be jealous, is what they’d be.Jealous too that they didn’t get to have you over for dinner tonight like me and my Milly did.”She laughed and stood up.Leaning on Reagan wasn’t helping her think straight right now.“You’d have the best room in the house, the two of you.I’m not saying mine and Milly’s bed, but you’d have one all the same.Reagan has spent plenty of nights here in that very same room.”

“I’m afraid that my sister will try to make me do something that I don’t want to.”He said he had faith in her to do the right thing.“I’m glad you do.I don’t just so you know. But I do appreciate you and your wife having me over.”

“We’re just happy to be able to meet you.”He looked at Reagan, who was still leaning against the fence post in the room.“I called me a couple of favors in and had your house looked at.There are about twenty Pride members who are happy to watch over things for you.”

“Do you think she’ll be able to find me?”Frank told his grandson there was no doubt that she could find him.All she’d have to do was look it up in the phone book.“I don’t think they make phone books anymore, Grandda. But you’re right. If she asked the right person, they could tell her where I lived.I’ll stay here too with Blake.”

“Good. Then, in the morning, we’ll all go over and get her moved into your home. Then you’ll be able to protect her better.”Blake asked if they thought that Robin would get violent.“Yes, there’s no reason whatsoever to believe that she won’t.She’s already hurt someone once, and that was you.I see no reason to give her anything more that she can hurt you with.”

She didn’t even have to worry about clean clothing, as Reagan reminded her that she could change her clothing at will. And Frank told her they always have extra toothbrushes and such when the boys come around unannounced. While she did feel slightly bullied into staying, she thought they were right in thinking that Robin would hurt her now.She didn’t know why, but she had a feeling that she was going to have to watch her back for a while with her sister and be careful not to be caught unawares.

“All right, I’ll stay.”Frank said that he had one more thing to have his daughter be jealous of them about.“I don’t want you to only do this to get your daughter mad at you, Frank. What if she’s mad at me over this?”

“So long as you’re safe, then she’ll be as right as rain about it.I tell you, it’s going to be fun being your knight in shining armor.Reagan can be, too, but I’m going to be helping you out with this to keep you safe for the family.Yes, sir, this is going to be wonderful having the two of you staying around here tonight.”Reagan asked her if she wanted to get married in the morning.“Married?Well, don’t that beat all.A wedding, too.I’m tickled pink to hear that.Yes siree bob, I’m excited as I’ve ever been.”

He went back into the house, talking about how he was going to have another baby by Christmas of next year.Blake looked up at Reagan and asked him if he was going to be all right with that.

“Whatever you want, I’ll be there for you.And a baby by next Christmas will be wonderful if he didn’t put too much pressure on you.”She said that he’d not, she’d been thinking about it too.“Well then, we’ll have to work on that as soon as possible.A bride by morning and a baby by next Christmas will be wonderful.

Chapter 6

Robin didn’t like this with her sister. She was acting out, and she didn’t care for it.Blake was making her depressed and angry, and she didn’t understand why she was doing this to her.Putting her cell phone back on the table, she wanted to toss it across the room, but the telephone company had told her that if she were to break another one within the next year, she’d be dropped from their service and get no more phones from them. She’d only broken about ten over the last five months and didn’t think they were giving her any due because she was depressed all the time. There should be special plans for people like her who suffered so badly from depression.

“Not that anyone suffers as much as I do.”She looked around her office and wondered what possessed her to decorate it in such terrible colors. It was muted browns and gold with greens and yellows around to make the room seem like a fall day.

She hated fall with all its colorful leaves falling down. She hated the Christmas season too, with all its white snow and cheerfully decorated homes. Her doctor suggested that she put up a tree one year, and she didn’t do it.Who wanted all that glad tidings around when you were depressed? She certainly didn’t.

“Mrs.Winters, there’s a phone call for you from the movers. They’re saying that no one is home and they can’t get in.”She told her butler to have them break down the door.“I’m afraid that they can’t do that, madam. There are laws that even the police would frown upon about breaking and entering.”She took the call.

“Where is she?”The man she was talking to, whose name she never learned, said that he had no idea.“I want you to find her and then move her things to the storage unit that I’ve set up.I don’t have time to mess with her today.I have to find me a doctor for my depression. And this isn’t helping me feel better with having to do your job for you.”He said that there was nothing he could do if she wasn’t home and that he wasn’t going to break down the door.“I don’t know why not.I’m paying you enough money to do what I want.”

“We’re not going to be breaking the law for you, no matter how much you pay us.If she’s not home when we get here, then that means we can’t do our job.”She hung up on the idiot and looked around for her butler.Like the rest of the people in her house, she didn’t know his name either. He seemed to be lurking behind the door when she yelled at him.

“Those stupid men aren’t doing what I want.I thought you told me they were reliable.”He said that he didn’t believe that anyone would break the law for her.“I swear to you there should be special rules for people like me.I’m depressed, and they just don’t seem to understand the suffering that I go through.”

“Yes, ma’am.”She thought that she heard a tone, but didn’t want to think about it right now.More and more lately, people had been treating her differently, from her butler to her housekeeper. She didn’t like it one bit.“Shall I try to call your sister again? Her work said that she’s off until the day after tomorrow due to her head and arm injuries.”

“Yes.Call her.And if you get through, you bring the phone to me.”He just disappeared from the doorway, and she wanted to call him back. She had other things that she was going to do, and it had to do with that stupid doctor Dresden.“Where does he get off calling himself Dresden like the town?I didn’t give him permission to do that.He should know that things like that are a trigger for me.”

Robin had read about triggers from a book on depression that she’d gotten from the internet. It also said that anything and everything could be a trigger and that she should make people aware of them when they bothered her. She’d been doing that for years, and no one told her what they were called. Now that she knew, she was going to use that word like it was her own.Everything triggeredher, and she hated that she had to explain to people that she was depressed all the time.Getting up so that she could go out and see where her sister had gotten off to, Robin had nearly fallen over when she read the top line of the newspaper.

“Another Dresden billionaire has found his bride.”She read the first paragraph of the article while standing in the middle of the room.It mentioned how Doctor Reagan Dresden, MD, had found his one true love in a woman called Blake Simon. It said that they were married just this morning at the courthouse with all his family in attendance.

Sitting in her chair hard, she told herself that it was all a lie and that there was no one who would go against her so blatantly, like her own sister had.Tossing the paper across the room, she was pissed off that the article was still where she could see it and wanted to toss it in the trash. How dare her sister get married without her say so?It was triggering her something terrible, and now she was going to have to go to the hospital.

Calling for an ambulance, she told them that she was suffering from depression badly and needed someone to come and get her.The woman on the other end of the line asked her if she was suicidal or not, with a whole lot of other questions. Not wanting to answer some of them, she told the woman that she was depressed and didn’t have time to answer all of that.Just come and get her before dinner, as she was going to have a nice feast for her supper.
