“Got it, Sullivan. We’ll be ready. Bozeman, out.”

Upon arrival, they were met by a team from the ER.

A nurse came over to Roark. “We’ll take her from here, Mr. Sullivan. Given the nature of her fall, we’d like to do a full workup.”

Roark turned to Jessica. “Does that meet with your permission?”

“Yes. That would be fine.”

The nurse looked up at Roark. “Very well. We’ll see you inside.”

Two orderlies, one on either end, guided the gurney into the ER.

Roark turned toward Mannie. “Come in after you’ve moved the helicopter.”

“Yes, sir. I’ll also call the house and let Athena know what’s happening.”

“Great. Thanks.”

“Sure. See you inside.”

I followed Jessica into the ER and wondered if she’d be okay. Would she call off their week in Montana? Perhaps she’d stay and I could help her heal. Or would she decide that being in a relationship with me is too hard?
