Da’ana cupped her hand over her mouth to hold back her laughter before responding.

“You would be correct, Mrs. Roslin. Also, can I come to dinner too? I can’t miss this one,” Da’ana added.

I threw my hands up, exasperated with the entire situation. I don’t know why they’re acting like I’ve never had a man interested, or a boyfriend for that matter. They might not have been great options, but I definitely had them.

“The way you’re acting is as if I never had a man before, or a man interested in me.”

My mom chuckled. “Of course you can come, Da’ana. Oh, no, honey, never that. You got my genes, and we’re good-looking women. You’ve never had a man who you’ve kept to yourself this long in private but went public with instantly. So naturally, we’re all confused by this, but I’m sure we’re going to find out what you’ve been up to.”

I turned and looked at Da’ana, whose eyes were wide. This was the main reason I didn’t want to bring him over there. But with the idea of this being real on the table, we wouldn’t be lying entirely.

“If you say so, Mom. Is there anything else I can do for you? I’d like to finish my shower and get dressed so we can be on time for dinner.”

“You get that smart and snappy comeback stuff from your father, and might I remind you, he is very upset with the way you handled this. He feels like a backup option, instead of the most important people in your life.”

I shook my head. I knew those emotions were hers and not my dad’s. He wanted me to have someone who could take care of me. He thought me living the way I was wasn’t safe and a waste of time. So I’m sure he couldn’t wait to ask Myheir every question he could think of, to make sure he was serious and that I would have proper protection and security.

“I’m sure he is, Mom. Well, I hate that me figuring out what’s best for me in my time bothered the rest of you so much. I apologize that I couldn’t do things in the manner you would prefer I done them. But you’re meeting him now, so please don’t do too much, or I will be single by the end of this dinner.”

She kissed her teeth. “There goes that sarcastic behavior. We’re not going to embarrass you. I’m going to go make sure things are good on our end. Oh, and don’t come in those ripped jeans and T-shirt that I’m sure you have pulled out. Put on a dress. It doesn’t have to be super fancy, but act like you want to keep this man, Khaleya.”

I opened the shower door and peeked out. Da’ana was beyond amused.

“I’ll wear what makes me most comfortable. See you in a few hours.”

I mouthedhang upto Da’ana, and she shook her head with wide eyes. I waved her over, since she was so damn scared to hang up. If she didn’t, she would be in here with me throughout my full shower.

“Khaleya Dawn Mathers.”

I interrupted her. “See you later, Mom.”

“Mm-hm, bye, girl.”

I quickly hung up, not allowing her to say another thing. She said bye, so I didn’t actually hang up on her. I handed Da’ana her phone back, then closed the shower door.

“Don’t answer if she calls back. You better go get ready, because now she is going to do the most about being late,” I told Da’ana, while rubbing my soap all over my body once again.

Da’ana nodded, then rushed from the bathroom. I finished my shower, brushed my teeth, then put on my First Class body oil all over. I’d even made a perfume to match it, so I sprayed that over my body, then slipped into a brown maxi dress with long sleeves, fluffed out my curls, making sure they were still defined.

I added my gold jewelry, then did a spin in front of the mirror after I lined my lips with my brown liner and added lip gloss. I was ready to go. I grabbed my slide-on shoes, because I wish I would wear a pair of heels to my parents’ place—it wasn’t that deep.

It seemed as if an hour had gone by before a knock resounded at my bedroom door.

“What’s up, Da’ana?” I called out.

I was bent over adding a bit more oil and butter to my legs so they stayed hydrated throughout the night. She didn’t respond, so I looked back to see Myheir standing there running his tongue across his lower lip, like he saw something he could eat and couldn’t wait to get his hands on it.

“Big, stop looking at me like that.”

He walked up until his dick was firmly pressed up against my ass and his large hands were swallowing my hips. I called him Big for one reason, and that was his persona, but clearly it could go for more than just that. If this is what he was working with soft, I had my work cut out for me, but I loved a challenge.

“How am I looking at you, Doll? It’s not my fault you had all that ass on display.”

I popped his hands and stood up straight. He leaned in and kissed my neck, causing my girl to thump between my thighs and a moan to slip out. I stepped out of his embrace like I felt something scalding hot.

“Cut it out. We have plans. Now, if you act like you have some sense, I might be able to treat you later.”

Myheir chuckled. “Doll, you act like you’re talking to a damn dog. But, on the second hand, I do like to bite, and I damn sure like treats. So keep it up, and I’m going to have to put a little action behind my words.”
