“Yeah, it’s bad enough I allowed you to wear those thot pants to the grocery store. You will not be in front of my people showing your?—”

She waved her hand in front of my dick.

I chuckled and moved up behind her.

“I hear you loud and clear. This muthafucka not trying to entertain anyone but you.”

“Mmm-hmm, go get changed, lover boy.”

I nodded and leaned forward and kissed her cheek. Then I made my way to the front door.

“See you later, Da’ana,” I called out.

“See ya!” she responded.

I was getting that yes before the clock struck midnight.

The moment the door closed,I looked back at Da’ana, and she was grinning. I rolled my eyes and stepped out of the kitchen to go to my room.

“Don’t roll your eyes now, and don’t think I’m not reaching out to Mama to let her know I’m coming to dinner too. Oh, and don’t worry, I’m driving myself, because we know where you’re ending up tonight. Just remember to wrap it up, I’m not ready to become an auntie yet.”

I flicked her off, and she burst into laughter as I made my way to my room. I hated how right she was. My last hope was that my family ran this man off, but I don’t think I could ever be that lucky. I just wanted them to make the decision for me. But the damn man was lovable, which is my problem currently.

I picked out a pair of ripped jeans and a graphic T-shirt, since I was just going to my parents’ place. I placed them onto mybed, then grabbed a towel to take a quick shower, but not before sending a text in my family group chat.

Me: I’m bringing Myheir to dinner tonight. I figured you might want a heads-up.

I tossed my phone on the bed and turned to walk away when the bed vibrated continuously. I knew they were having a field day in those messages, but they would just have to wait until I got out of the shower.

I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower, undressed, and stepped inside. Then Da’ana knocked on the door and peeked her head inside.

“Leya, your mom is on the phone.”

I rolled my eyes. I’m sure she told her I was in the shower.

I groaned. “Put her on speaker.”

Da’ana walked further into the bathroom and did as I asked.

“Hi, Mom. I’m sure Da’ana told you I was in the shower. This couldn’t wait until I got out?” I asked.

“No, it couldn’t. If you were going to drop a bomb like that, you should have gotten in the shower first, not after. Now what do you mean, Myheir is coming? Is that your boyfriend who everyone else has gotten the chance to meet?”

I rolled my eyes because she loved to be dramatic. This was easily going to be about her when it had nothing to do with them at all.

“The one and the same.”

I chose not to respond to the last part. That would only further this conversation, when I’d already said all there was to be said.

“Well, I already curated the menu, and now I don’t know if that young man might be allergic to any of this.”

I chuckled. “He isn’t allergic to anything. He will be fine. Don’t go changing anything for him, he is a regular man.”

“No. This has done something none of us thought we’d ever see the day it happened.”

“Huh, what are you talking about? And, Mom, can we make this quick? I’m sure Da’ana doesn’t want to spend her time standing in the bathroom with me while I’m naked and showering.”

“Da’ana, honey, you alright? I’m sure you’ve seen what she has before, as you have the same. Would that be a good assumption?”
