I chuckled. “Well, should I let Jerome know he can come back and grab them?” I asked with a lift of my brow and a smirk.
Her eyes widened, then she bit her lower lip as she shook her head no.
“I wish you would. You can’t place a girl’s dream bag in front of her and then try to take it back.”
“You don’t even know what they look like.”
She shrugged. “I don’t. But I also couldn’t care less what they look like. This is a fashion investment, in case you’re new to this.”
I leaned back in my seat as she walked around, making sure the overhead bins were locked. I could tell it was taking everything in her not to run over to those bags to peek inside. But she had been trained well, and she wasn’t going to stop doing her job for anyone. Including a few free Birkin bags.
I buckled my seatbelt, then took a sip of my water as she went through her usual routine. After making sure everything was locked down, me included, she pointed to the chair across from me when the seatbelt sign lit up ahead.
“Please have a seat, Khaleya. All that professionalism is running away, ain’t it?”
She glanced over at the bags, ignoring me. “Can I?”
I nodded and watched as she pulled the beautifully boxed-up bags from their confinements. The way her eyes lit up at each bag made me want to buy every bag I could get my hands on. But the shit I had to go through to get these was something for the books.
She hugged the purse, then glanced up at me with tears in her eyes.
“How did you get these? You know you can’t just pick these up at a store, right?” she asked.
I nodded. “I do. I had a connect, and they were able to work quickly to acquire them for me. Just know I must have a ton of trust in you to give you those bags before you’ve signed a single thing.”
She glanced down at the bags again and smiled big.
“Oh, I’m good for it. Now take my picture so I can send this to Da’ana.”
She instructed, then handed me her phone unlocked. I pulled up the camera and snapped a few of her posing crazy with each bag, then with both together.
Damn if this wasn’t exactly what I needed.
I cannot believehe actually bought these damn bags. I did not expect him to actually buy them, let alone two. I ran my hands over the smooth material, practically having an orgasm from the touch alone.
“I just can’t stop looking at them. It’s crazy because I planned to give you a piece of my mind when you got on here.”
His brow rose at my response.
“What’d I do?” he asked.
“When I mentioned I had a nine-to-five to get to, you could have easily told me it was with you.”
He leaned back in his seat with a smirk, then craned his head to the side.
“Would it have mattered?” he asked.
I opened my mouth to respond, then closed it. It wouldn’t have mattered, but I sure as hell wasn’t getting ready to tell him that. So I smiled and carefully placed each bag back intotheir protective coverings, then back into the bag I’d pulled them from, placing the bag beneath the table.
“It could have. Maybe I could have gotten up a little later since it was just you.”
He laughed and looked away for a moment.
“You damn well know you wouldn’t have come to work late because I told you the flight was with me.”
I leaned forward with both my elbows on the table, and he followed suit, meeting me halfway as he held my stare.
“You want to bet? I don’t even like you that much.”
