She had no other choice but to cherish her memories and find peace in them. Whimpering like a heartbroken child, she gently shook him awake. “Hunter,” she whispered.
He stirred. “Hey, beautiful.”
“I’ve been thinking. We’re kind of in the same business. I fulfill fantasies with my brain and you fulfill them with your body.”
He studied her a moment, then chuckled.
“We have to pack. Do you still want to ride to the train station with me?”
“Yeah.” He pulled her to him. “Do we have time for a quickie?”
She could pack in three minutes if it meant one more go with this man. She kissed him until she was breathless.
Theringof her phone startled her. She pulled from his embrace to check the caller ID. Of course, it was Matt; the man had always had crappy timing. She placed the phone on the nightstand and returned to Hunter.
Its ringing only ceased for a moment when a text chirped.
She’d deal with Matt later; she needed to concentrate on her beautiful boy toy.
Hunter relieved her of her shorts and panties. Tumbling onto his back, he beckoned with curling fingers. She swung a leg over his hips, straddling the erect cock that pointed at the ceiling.
Her phone rang again.
“Augh.” She climbed off of him. “I better take this.”
Hunter grumbled a string of obscenities.
She clicked onAcceptand didn’t try to hide her annoyance. “What do you want, Matt?”
Ping.
Stacie had just texted the exact words that Matt spoke: “Kylie disappeared last night.”
Jenna’s breath caught in her throat. “What?”
“She disappeared last night. I checked on her around midnight, and she wasn’t in bed. I’ve been looking for her ever since. Are you on your way home?” Matt asked.
A comforting hand caressed Jenna’s shoulder. She brushed it away. “Why didn’t you call me last night?”
“I didn’t want to worry you,” said the horse’s ass.
Kylie was probably just being Kylie. Although Jenna swallowed her fear, her anger exploded. “That’s freaking bullshit. You didn’t want me to know that you can’t control her either.”
“Fuck off, Jenna,” Matt said.
Hunter exited the bed and dressed.
“She probably spent the night at Cara’s, so she didn’t have to go to church with your mom,” Jenna said.
“Nope. I called Cara’s parents. I even drove to their house to double-check. She hasn’t heard from Kylie since early evening yesterday and has no idea where she is.”
Jenna’s heart crashed to her feet. “Stacie just texted. Have you talked to her?”
“Not until a few minutes ago. Neither she nor your dad has heard from Kylie.”
Jenna sat in stunned silence.
“How quickly can you get home? Your dad called a missing person report into the station.”
