His thumb and forefinger zipped his lips, and he tossed the key over his shoulder.

Deep in her heart she knew the man would take her secret to the grave. “A streaming service wants to buy the rights and turnDesirable Dukesinto a miniseries.”

His precisely trimmed mustache and goatee showcased a smile of perfect white teeth. “Are you fucking kidding? That’s amazing.”

Jenna couldn’t contain her joy any longer; she hopped up and down on the mattress. “I know. I know,” she sang out.

“How much are you getting paid?” he asked.

Jenna’s math skills weren’t the greatest, but she did a quick mental tally. “I don’t know because there are a lot of parties involved.” She ticked off her fingers. “Me, The McMurry Agency, Holmes-Colson Publishing, and NetTeliFilms. McMurry says there’s a proposed two-hundred-and-fifty-million-dollar budget for six seasons, and they want six shows a season.”

“Jesus Christ. I hope you’re going to see a few million of that.” He rubbed his hands together in a dramatic show of greed.

Jenna laughed so hard she snorted. She remained seated as her feet danced. In her overzealous state, she kicked off her flipflops. They flew across the room, hitting the wall.

Hunter chortled.

She pounced, wrapping her arms around him in what she meant to be a nonsexual hug. He was warm and strong—and so naked. She tightened her grip, feeling as close to anyone as she had in years. For a moment, her loneliness faded, and she longed to ask him to be her boyfriend. The mental brain slap she issued stung like a bitch, and she reluctantly pulled away.

He took her face in his palms and stared into her eyes. “I promise, your secret is safe with me.”

His lashes were long and black, and his brows were heavy and masculine. His intense angelic eyes were so beautiful that a needy ache coursed through her, landing with a painful thud in her chest. She ran her finger over the crescent-shaped scar on his chest and then, overcome with raw emotion, laid herself bare. “Hunter, my life has been hell for the past year.”

He rubbed a thumb along her cheek. “But your ass of a husband is gone, and you’re the most wanted writer in the country.” He placed a gentle, searching kiss on her lips. “Everyone tells me their fantasies. Tell me yours.”

Her breath hitched. She couldn’t cure herself of her obsession when he said things like that.

“Come on, beautiful. You have me for the weekend. Let me make you feel good and fulfill every one of your desires.”

“How did you get that scar?” she deflected.

“Fishing hook accident with my brother three summers ago.”

“Oh.” Attempting to put them on equal footing, she asked, “What’s your fantasy?”

He smirked. “To bang the shit out of this famous author chick I’ve wanted since I was a kid.”

Jenna whimpered.

His breath blew across her cheek as he undid her ponytail and fluffed her knots. “I wanted to bend her over and watch her ass as I pounded into her. I wanted to listen to her scream my name when she came.”

“I think you’ve done that,” she said, attempting a coquettish eyelash flutter.

“Yeah. But you haven’t screamed my name—yet.”

A fire ignited in her belly, heating her from head to toe.

His finger dipped into the front of her dress and he traced the swell of her cleavage. His sultry baritone was all persuasion. “Jenna, let’s celebrate your good news.”

She kissed him, absorbed his shudder, and her wall tumbled. “Make love to every inch of me, Hunter. Every single inch,” she begged.

“Every fucking inch,” he agreed, his voice husky.

Who knew she had erogenous zones in her eyelids, cheeks, and forehead? But his fluttering butterfly kisses made her reel with pleasure.

His soft lips peppered her shoulders and neck with luxuriously slow touches. “I’m also going to taste every inch of you. Would you like that, beautiful?”

“Yes,” she murmured, as his whispered promise sent tendrils of heat shooting down her arms.
