“Why the pathetic frowny face? Are you having second thoughts about FollowMe?”

“Nah,” Hunter said. “It was actually kind of fun.”

“In another month, you’ll have your fans so horned up they’ll tip a hundred bucks a photo to see you hard.”

Hunter sighed.

“Curb your enthusiasm, dude,” Clark said.

Hunter held his middle finger high.

“Seriously, you look like someone pissed in your protein drink.”

Overall, life was good. He was rolling in dough, his fans adored him, and he was pretty sure he was going to spend the next twenty-four hours getting his brains fucked out by a woman who made said brain—and more importantly, his cock—tingle. Perhaps his annoyance was because he knew Clark would eventually taunt him for his squeamishness over flaunting his prick. On top of that, his childhood buddy would call him paranoid if he brought up the creepy oddball he’d just blocked.

“I asked Bianca to find me an assistant to organize my schedule and do some cooking and grocery shopping. The agency is sending someone Monday.”

“I thought we were going to keep the bitch in a blazer out of the hiring decision.”

“Yeah, well, we can’t just have any old person living with us. I needed assistance finding someone trustworthy.” Not to mention he hadn’t even tried. “Will you be around to help them get settled in?”

“Sure. Where are you gonna be?” Clark asked.

“I have that swimsuit shoot in Baltimore Monday morning.”

“Oh, yeah.”

“Bianca suggested I offer room and board. She said it tends to keep staff more loyal. Can you put them in the guest bedroom?”

“Fucking A. So, we’re getting a live-in butler?” Clark asked.

Hunter stretched his arms to the ceiling. “Maybe.”

“Do you know if they’re sending a man or a woman?”

Hunter shrugged, dropped onto the couch, and rested his bare feet on the coffee table. Lizzie hopped up beside him, turned in a circle, and plunked herself down. “Bianca is supposed to vet them carefully. I asked for a man, but honestly, it doesn’t matter. Do you care?”

“As long as they can cook, I could care less.” Clark grinned. “Although a chef with a rockin’ ass would be appreciated.”

Hunter chuckled. “If I head into Manhattan for the weekend, could you keep an eye on the pups?”

“Sure.” Clark sat beside him. “But I didn’t think you had anything going on this weekend.”

Hunter wasn’t sure he wanted to tell his buddy the truth, but leaving your beloved pets with a friend and lying about the reason was a pretty low-down, shitty thing to do. “You know that hot author, Jenna Gibson?”

“The one with the ‘cute ass’ and million-dollar advance?”

“Yeah.” Instead of meeting Clark’s gaze, Hunter focused on scratching Lizzie’s forehead. “She has to meet with the president of her agency tomorrow morning and is coming into the city tonight. I’m gonna meet her for a drink later.”

Clark slapped him on the shoulder and chuckled. “So, why are you gonna be gone the entire weekend?”

Earlier that afternoon, he may have sent a scandalous photo to seven thousand people, but he never talked about his conquests. Not wanting to divulge unnecessary information about Jenna, he clamped his lips tight as he recalled his elementary school teacher telling him to glue his hyperactive bottom to the chair and put a bubble in his blabbing mouth.

“Do you remember I have to go out of town Monday afternoon to do a shoot for Lionel Killpatrick? I’ll be gone a few days,” Clark said.

Hunter had completely forgotten about Clark’s newest crush. “Yeah, I remember.”

Clark fanned a pretend flame. “Back to Miss Big Bucks. Don’t piss her off until after you get the modeling contract for her next cover.” He clapped Hunter on the back one last time before standing. “Maybe you’ll get rid of that damn scowl if you get laid.”
