“Yes, you do.” She exhales snappily.

“I don’t…” I stare at her.

At the stubborn tilt of her chin. The fury trembling underneath her skin. The desperation is raw in her eyes like she’s holding herself together by force alone.

“You almost died, and I need you to heal from it.”

“I am fine!” Her eyes lock on mine instantly. “I just want you to fuck me hard and bring me back into this body, Robert!”

The room goes still.

My restraint starts splitting apart molecule by molecule.

“Christine,” I warn softly.

“Do it.” She steps closer again, gaze dropping briefly to my mouth before climbing back up. “Bite, pinch, drive into me with no mercy.” Her voice shakes now, fragile with frustration. “Please.”

The sound of that nearly destroys me.

“I…”

“Just shut up and do it.”

Then she kisses me again, desperate enough to hurt.

My back hits the glass wall behind me from the force of it while her hands fist into my hair, pulling me down to her level like she’s trying to drown herself in me.

That tiny broken sound she makes into my mouth snaps the last thread holding me together.

My hand slides around her throat instinctively, squeezing, and her entire body shudders beneath my palm.

I kiss her back with all the hunger I’ve spent two weeks choking down. Weeks of watching her heal. Watching her sleep. Watching her breathe and thanking every God I don’t believe in that she’s still here.

She gasps when I turn her suddenly, walking her backward until her spine hits the cold wall.

Her thighs part automatically, the silk strap of her nightdress slipping fully off her shoulder.

My mouth finds the exposed skin immediately.

Teeth grazing.

Lips soothing after.

Exactly what she asked for.

Her nails rake hard down my chest in response, and the sting drags something rough out of me.

“Again,” she whispers shakily.

I bite her shoulder harder this time.

Her head falls back against the wall with a broken moan, thighs pressing together instinctively before I force them apart with my knee.

“That enough for you?” My voice comes out darker now.

“No.” She’s breathing hard. “More.”

Christ.
