“I was sure you would have gotten bored with Talia by now.” She says loud and clear, shifting her gaze from her ex-boyfriend to me.

“Gen.” Macklin looks furious. “That’s fucking rude.”

She shrugs. “The dare was to confess a secret. It didn’t say anything about being polite.”

It’s my turn to blush. “It’s ok. Whatever.”

“No, it’s not ok.” Macklin bites out. “Let me tell you a secret, Gen. As a freebie. Talia is the best thing that ever happened to me. I’m falling for her. And being with her made me realize that what I felt for you wasn’t even close to love.”

Oh, I know I shouldn’t dwell on what he just said. He wants to hurt Gen rather than declare his feelings for me.

Our whole relationship is to show Gen that they’re done.

But I can’t help the warmth that spreads in my chest at the way Macklin is looking at me.

“Asshole,” Gen bites out.

“Sorry if the truth hurts. You should have thought about it before you were rude to my girlfriend.”

“Whatever. When you do get bored with her, don’t come begging me to take you back because I won’t.”

This time Macklin smiles. “Noted. I’ll take that risk. Now, let’s keep this fucking show on the road. It’s my turn to draw for the next dare.”

We all watch as Macklin dips his hand into the first bowl.

“Becks,” he reads out before taking a piece of paper from the second bowl. “I dare you to kiss…”

My heart leaps right into my throat as Macklin looks around the room. I have no right to be jealous, but I’m not looking forward to watching Becks kiss someone else.

“Talia.”

Did Macklin just say my name, or am I having auditory hallucinations based on what I would like to hear?

Everyone is looking at me though, so I guess I’m not that delusional just yet.

“Ha.” Gen cackles at Macklin. “Karma is a bitch. Now you have to look at your precious girlfriend making out with your brother.”

“Get over yourself, Gen. It’s just a game. We aren’t in middle school anymore. Let’s go, guys. We don’t have all night.”

Becks’s blue eyes are locked on me, bright and intense.

It’s really hard to read what he’s thinking right now. It’s entirely possible that he doesn’t want to kiss me and that Macklin is wrong about his brother always wanting what he has.

Maybe Becks just isn’t into me, or he would have really kissed me the night we met.

Either way, I’m pretty positive he doesn’t want to run buck naked through a house full of people, so this is happening.

At the very least, I’m going to know how it feels to kiss Becker Shayba.

Is it going to be just as earth shattering as kissing Macklin?

A million questions run through my head, tangled with conflicting emotions. I want both these men.

Could this be the universe’s way of helping me clear my head? Or is this kiss going to make everything even more complicated?

There’s only one way to find out.

Becks comes forward. “Hey.” He whispers. “Hey. Is it ok if I…”
