His chuckle made me smile but he was fading fast. “That’s a very polite way to label what I plan on doing to you.”

Yay.

Playing dumb, I hummed and kept a neutral expression in case he was actually peeking. “You’re a snuggler in either form.”

Flashing a grin, he squeezed my hand. “Yep, that’s what we’re going to call it…snuggling.”

We’d start there at least.

“One long hug and you’re going to be out…snuggling sounds like a good description.” My slightly sassy tone got a smirk from him. “Besides, we’ve got shows to catch up on and you promised to show me how to use the grill.”

We’d spent a bit too much time hiding in the trailer to use it much.

“Sounds like you’ve got our day planned out…but something else might be missing from your list.” His soft thinking hum almost sounded innocent. “What do you think that might be?”

Ha.

“Oh, I haven’t told you…it’s going to be a safe space for you to run while shifted.” Biting my tongue not to laugh as he went still,I sighed. “I can’t believe I forgot to mention it to you. Mountains as far as the eye can see…very few people…state and national park land for miles.”

His groan almost made me lose the fight with my sense of humor. “You’re fucking with me.”

Yep.

He was so tempted he hated it.

“We’re going to have time for you to run to your heart’s content and spend lots of private time together.” It’d taken us a while to get to this point but we were finally free of everything…for a while at least.

I was hoping Blaine’s thoughts weren’t heading in that practical of a direction but it was too much to ask. “What did you think about me being the leader of the Pride?”

Was “nothing” a bad answer?

It took me too long to figure that out, getting a tired laugh from him. “Stop trying to figure out the right answer.”

“I wasn’t.” I was trying to decide what the normal answer would be. “Um, I don’t have any opinion on it but that felt rude to say.”

Blaine must not have thought so because his fingers started petting mine again, just slower as he drifted closer to sleep. “I’m at that point too, but I think I’m just not ready to think about it.”

That didn’t surprise me.

“Then we’ll handle it when you’re ready.” I was okay with taking that part slow. “At some point we track down people online and maybe add them to the map.”

If they were as spread out as the council guy had said, our road trip adventure might be the best way to meet all of them.

“He’d have told us if there was something you needed to handle right now.” He hadn’t seemed like the fuck with everyone type. “Did you see his face when he tossed that teddy bear back through the portal?”

Laughing again, Blaine let me change the subject. “I guess that spell was originally only taught to children. I wonder what they thought was going on when they got whatever Bat Signal came through.”

Oh, that would’ve been funny.

“I can’t help wondering if he got the short straw to deal with a kid or if he was the best person to deal with one.” I had questions but it looked like it was going to take a while to answer them. “He didn’t seem mad at me.”

He didn’t seem like he was going to out me as human either.

“Well, there’s only so much he can do now that you’re my mate.” Blaine shrugged. “You’re not really considered just human any longer. So if you’d prefer you can get a new profile on the general paranormal server as my mate.”

Oh wow.

He laughed again but opened his eyes and leaned across the cab to kiss my head. “Hadn’t thought about that yet?”
