I drove hard into him. “Say it, Josh. Say it because it’s true. I’m yours and you’re mine.”

He panted into the punishing thrusts, owning my body every bit as much as I owned his. Just when I’d given up hope he’d say anything, out came some of the most magical words I’d ever heard leave his lips. “I’m yours, and… and you’re mine.”

My groan came from somewhere deep in my soul. “Again. Say it again.”

“You’re mine.”

“I’m yours.”

“You’re mine.” His body shook beneath my hands. The bond felt as if it were glowing brightly enough to rival the moon. Then, the night shattered into brilliant light as our lovemaking hit a crescendo.

We collapsed back onto the lush ground, sweaty and spent. I laid a trail of kisses along Josh’s spine while I sought out his hand. He laced our fingers together and curled into me.

I nuzzled his neck and placed more tender kisses. “I’ll always be yours, Joshua Hart.”

Josh

“It’s about damn time.”

I bolted upright at the intrusion of Eric’s voice into my happy, satiated bubble of bliss. My gaze went from a very human, very impatient, verydressedEric to the man by my side. Elijah chuckled, not even having the decency to look abashed at literally getting caught tangled up together by his best friend.

“You saidweresdon’t bother each other,” I said flatly.

Eric snorted. “Lycans are about as nosy as they come. And finding people post- and mid-romp is literally the best source of gossip. Now get a move on, you two. Some of us aren’t actually supposed to be out here.” Piece said, he turned and vanished back the way he’d come.

“What the hell, Elijah?” I smacked him hard enough to make him grunt and worked on untangling my legs from his. When he didn’t respond, I turned around to find him still lying on the ground, propped up on his elbows, watching me with the biggest shit-eating grin on his face. “What?”

“You.” He laughed again as he finally got around to standing and getting dressed.

“What about me?”

“Being completely naked in front of everyone, changing into a wolf, ripping apart a deer with your bare teeth… none of thatfazes you, but having Eric walk upafterwe’ve had sex somehow gets your ruff up?”

I scowled at him and yanked my shirt down hard enough to hear a couple of seams pop. “You intentionally misled me.”

In classic Elijah form, he got up and promptly crowded me. He slipped his hand around my waist while his lips hovered an inch away from mine. “Your point?”

The husky question sent a shiver running through my traitorous body. Truth be told, I wasn’t sure if I was more perturbed that he’d tricked me or that I’d fallen for it. “It’s not nice to lie,” I said, which might have been the most idiotic five words to ever leave my mouth.

I expected Elijah to tease me for essentially pouting over something that was, in fact, trivial. Instead, his eyes darkened with lust, and he caught my mouth in a possessive kiss that had my toes curling in the soft earth.

“What was that for?” I asked with what little breath I could manage when he finished with me.

He stole a smaller kiss before responding. “Just remembering the last time I heard you say that.”

I frowned. “I’ve never said that to you before.”

He brushed his fingers lightly through my hair, and his face took on a dreamy expression. “Not to me.”

Before I could ask what the hell he was talking about, Eric’s voice sliced through the air. “For the love of the moon, how long does it take to get dressed?”

Elijah chuckled and stepped away to deal with his exceedingly obnoxious best friend, leaving me to make my own way to the others.

When I emerged near the parked vehicles, Tommy waved me over. I cast a glance in Elijah’s direction, where he appeared once again deep in debate with Eric. Hopefully, he was reaming him for being such an ass, but I doubted it, especially since Ericlooked to have the upper hand in the argument. I shook my head and walked over to Tommy. As I approached, his face broke into a wide grin.

“What?”

“Did you really fall for it?” Tommy’s question didn’t even have a hair of doubt.
