But I’m walking now. In fact, I’m practically running. I pull the towel from my hair and toss it into the bathroom. I don’t even consider changing—that would take too long. Instead I grab my room keycard, slip my feet into a pair of flip flops, and hurry down the hall to the suite next to mine.

My fist has barely made contact with the door when it swings open to reveal Fox. I wonder if he’s been standing there, debating whether or not to come interrupt us. His face is stormy, similar to the way he’d looked when he came barging into my hospital room earlier.

God, was that only a few hours ago? It kind of seems like my entire life’s trajectory changed in the course of a single afternoon.

And it feels freaking fantastic.

I grin at the guy who makes me feel like maybe I deserve a new life after all. “I was wondering if you could help me out.”

He blinks down at me, looking a little bewildered now, like he hasn’t quite caught up to my gleeful mood. “With what?”

“Well, see, I’ve never had the chance to have hot rebound sex with a stunningly attractive man. And I just formally cut ties with my ex. So I was thinking this might be my chance.”

His eyes flash at me, the corner of his mouth beginning to lift in a smile. “I suppose we can’t let you go your entire life without experiencing hot rebound sex.” He opens the door a little wider to let me in, but instead of squeezing past him, I jump into his arms instead. He lets out a littleompfof surprise but when I wrap my arms around his neck, he catches on pretty quickly, grabbing the backs of my thighs to pull me up against him.

“I think you’re just the man for the job,” I tell him, my lips coming down to meet his as he kicks the door shut behind me.
