His eyes slam open and he reaches for my face again, his grip harder this time, hands trembling a little like he’s trying to contain something within himself. “You’re beautiful. It’s too much. You make me insane.”

I arch an eyebrow. “Insane can be fun.”

Still he holds onto my face, jaw clenched tight. “Are you sure you want this?”

“Um, was the whole ripping my shirt off too subtle for you?”

His lips twitch, some of the tension leaving his posture. “I’m serious. The last thing I want is to take advantage—”

“Give me a break. I’m a grown ass woman, Wyatt. I make my own choices. I’m choosing this. I’m choosing you. So please shut up and take your pants off.”

He cracks up, bringing his head to my shoulder, his back shaking while he laughs, his breath hot on my neck. “You’re my favorite.”

“I am?”

He nods against me, slipping his hands down from my face to gently grasp the place where my shoulders meet my neck. He’s still chuckling softly as he runs his thumbs across my skin. “You are. My very favorite.”

That has the moisture rushing to my eyes again. “You’re my favorite too.”

He must hear the emotion in my voice because he lifts his head, eyes latching onto mine. The humor fades from his expression, replaced by something intense and scorching. “I want you.”

Thank God.

“I’m right here.”

It’s almost scary how right it feels to be with Wyatt. We move together like our bodies are already acquainted, like a dance we’ve both been practicing all our lives. At the same time, the newness of it all takes my breath away. This is Wyatt. A man I know so well and yet a man I’ve never known like this.

I’ve stared at his hands countless times over the years, could probably sketch them from memory, but I’ve never seen the way they look when he’s touching my naked skin, when he’s spreading his elegant, piano-playing fingers over the curves of my body. I’ve marveled at the smooth planes of his chest and strong slope of his shoulders, but I’ve never known what they feel like under my lips. I’ve heard his voice countless times, but I’ve never heard the way it sounds whispered in my ear while he hovers over me. I’ve dreamt of his brown eyes but I’ve never seen the way they look when they’re filled with flames.

Everything with Wyatt is familiar and new at the same time. It’s addicting. I can’t imagine that I’ll ever get my fill. A lifetime wouldn’t be enough to discover all of the secrets his body holds.

He moves his mouth over my skin like he’s trying to memorize every inch. He studies me, watching my responses to everything he does, filing away all the things I like best into his memory for next time. When our tongues brush, I moan, and he deepens the kiss. When he runs his lips over my breasts, I whimper, and he growls in approval. When he presses his fingers against my center, I gasp, and his satisfied grin is the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

His hands tremble when he moves to unwrap the condom and everything in me goes soft and warm. I’ve seen so many sides of Wyatt, but I’ve never seen him vulnerable like this, and it does something to me. I catch those trembling fingers between my palms, pulling them to my lips. “It’s okay,” I whisper.

He nods and I’m mesmerized by his neck when he swallows heavily. “I’ve wanted this for so long,” he murmurs, jaw clenched tight. “I can’t believe it’s real.”

“I can’t believeyou’rereal,” I blurt out, then my cheeks immediately flush. “You’re so perfect,” I explain, feeling suddenly shy.

His expression softens and he pulls his hands from mine to palm the sides of my face. “Thisis perfect. Me and you. Just like this.”

He’s right. It’s perfect when he kisses me and it’s perfect when he finally moves inside me. It’s perfect when he holds my gaze while bringing me right to the edge, then whispers my name when he sends me over.

I’ve always thought Wyatt Warner was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen but I had no idea how beautiful he would be when he finally comes apart inside me. Familiar and new, all at the same time.

I don’t know how much time passes before I manage to find my voice again. “Wow,” I whisper against his neck. He’s slumped against me, not moving, but I can feel his lips curve into a smile at my obvious wonder.

“Wow is an understatement,” he pulls himself away and I miss him immediately. He’s quick to take care of the condom and pull me right back into his arms. “You okay?”

“Define okay.”

I love the feel of his rumbling laugh under my cheek as I snuggle into his chest. “I’m honestly not sure I’ll ever be okay again,” he says.

“Maybe okay is overrated.”

He laughs again, pulling me tighter against him. I can’t seem to wipe the grin off my face. I feel giddy and excited and still a little bit like I must be dreaming. I also feel like I’m floating. Floating and so warm. So…right.

“Alex? Did you hear me?”
