Leif smiled, although it quickly disappeared. “But you think you’re poly—uh, polyam.”Hawaiians,apparently. Leif was really going to need to look into that one.
“I don’tknowwhat I am!” For the first time, Tanner seemed frustrated. “I think Icouldbe. But Tom said something about his relationships that made me think.”
Leif blinked a few times. “Tom Bass and his wife are polyamorous?”
“Shit. I wasn’t supposed to say that.” Tanner grimaced.
“I won’ttellanyone,” Leif pointed out. Unlike Tanner, at least he knew he could keep a secret. “Anyway, what did he say?”
“That he and his wife are polyam and it’s something theyneed.”
“And you need it?”
“No, that’s the thing, I’m not sure I do,” Tanner said slowly. “I thought about you being with someone else—like, dating them seriously, living with them, and I fucking hated that idea.”
“Okay.”
“So then I thought about us living together but you still having sex with other people and I was more okay with that but still not, like …completely.”
“Okay.”
“But it got me thinking. What if we don’t have sex with anyone else?”
Leif blinked at him. “Isn’t that just … normal monogamy?”
“Well yeah,” Tanner said. “Obviously.”
“But that’s the part you’re not sure you’re okay with.”
“Hear me out,” Tanner said.
Leif braced himself for whatever nonsense was about to come out of his mouth next. Because he loved Tanner but sometimes the shit he said truly was utter nonsense.
“So like, we’re both into being kinda kinky, right?” Tanner continued.
“Yeah,” Leif said. He supposed so.
“So that’ll help. You said it yourself the other day, it’s stimulation, new things that I’m craving right?”
“Sure.”
“So if we keep it fun and new and exciting …”
“I get that,” Leif said. “But what if it’s not enough?”
Tanner snorted. “Dude, I’ve had a lot of sex but there’s still a shitton of stuff I haven’t tried yet.”
“Okay. Like what?”
“I don’t know. Nipple clamps?”
“Nipple clamps?” Leif stared at him in disbelief.
“Well, I don’tknow. It was the first thing that popped into my head.”
“Okay. So you think you’re into them?”
“How would I know? I’ve never tried them.”
