“Hi, is this Winona Harvey? Dog training business?”

“Yes, this is her. How can I help?” I asked, my heart picking up speed. Not only did his voice send tingles down my spine, but it was also rough and raspy in just the right way.

Focus, girl. This is your business. Not a hookup call.

“I’m looking for help with my pup, Peaches. She’s not listening and chewing through my house. Including my fireman boots. I mean, how the hell does she chew through that rubber?”

I laughed. “Dogs have some tough jaws and teeth. But I love to help out. We can meet at the local park and start some lessons, see if it’s a good fit. Let me know a day and time that works for you.”

“Are you free tomorrow afternoon?”

“Yes. That’s perfect.”

“Great. My name is Hollis. I’ll wear a red shirt and wait by the welcome sign.”

“See you then.”

I hung up the phone, nearly panting. What was it with that man’s voice?

I didn’t know, but I had a feeling my vibrator was about to get a good workout.

Laughing to myself, I pictured him as an old, crusty guy, but nothing seemed to help my racing heart. Which was weird, because my heart never raced for a guy before. Even with my ex-boyfriend, the cheating asshole who ditched me before I could dump his ass.

But him…Hollis…local fireman.

Turning me on from his voice alone…

Tomorrow was going to be interesting.

I arrivedat the park fifteen minutes early and sat in my car, scoping out the area.

With five minutes to go, a man arrived in a red shirt, a dog trotting along happily beside him on a leash.

My stomach dropped like when on a rollercoaster, crashing to my feet and stealing my breath.

Holy shit.

He was hot as fuck.

I ripped my sunglasses off in hopes for a better look, his body carved like a damn Greek God or something.

He was book boyfriend material. Straight out of a novel. Insane.

And when he turned and looked in my direction, my heart nearly burst from my chest.

His handsome face and chiseled jaw turned me on. He looked to be a little older than me, maybe his mid-thirties, but what did it matter when he looked the way he did- a delicious snack.

How the hell am I going to approach this guy?

Relax, you’re here for his dog. His cute, adorable dog. Not him.

I gripped the steering wheel as the time ticked down. Only one minute left.

Just do it. You’re a grown woman.

With a deep breath, I grabbed my training bag and got out of my car, shutting and locking it behind me. Then I put one foot in front of the other and walked over to them, my heart and mind racing a mile a minute.

“Hi. Hollis and Peaches?” I asked when I stopped in front of them, my voice sounding squeaky. What the fuck?
