Holy shit. “Oh,” I squeaked.

“Yeah, you can say I’ve been a little hard up since I ended things with Cordi, and we began this whole fake relationship thing. It’s too bad there’s no fake sex.”

I choked on a laugh, the weird noise bubbling up beyond my control. Why didn’t I think of that? I hadn’t even considered how hard it must have been for him to stick to the rules. “Damn, sorry, Ax. I guess I didn’t think about that part of it.”

He waved a dismissive hand. “Nah, it’s fine. My right hand and I are just getting super close, if you know what I mean.” He dragged his hand through his hair, grinning. “It builds character, right?”

I threw my head back and laughed, a real cackle this time, and Ax buckled over joining me, a second later.

“We need to get out of here,” I wheezed out once the laughter had finally died out.

“Yeah, we do.” Ax held out his hand and pulled me to my feet just as the door swung open.

Killian and Lexi stumbled in, mouths sealed together, hands traveling places I’d never unsee.

“Hey! This room’s occupied,” I blurted.

Lexi tore her mouth free of Killian’s, her cheeks flushed. “Oh, shit, sorry! We didn’t mean to interrupt.”

Killian’s dark gaze razed over us. “You guys were actually in here fucking?”

Ax messed with his collar before curling his arm around my shoulders and tucking me into his side. “Just finished actually.”

I ran my hand through my hair, trying to achieve the just-been-fucked look. “Best orgasm of my life,” I added. “Just when I think it can’t get any better.” I stared up at Ax, and a grin split his lips.

Killian stalked closer, curious gaze darting between us before settling on his roommate. “How come you never bring Lorelei to our dorm?”

“Because you and Lexi are there. And it would be weird…”

“We’re not there much,” said Lexi. “We’re mostly on the boat, so don’tnotcome because of us.”

“Yeah, what she said.” Killian ticked his head at his precious Lexi. “As a matter of fact, why don’t we all go out together this week?”

“What?” I squeaked.

“I don’t know about that Kill?—”

He lifted his hand, cutting Axel off. “I was wrong, okay? It’s clear you two really are together, and since Axel is my best friend, we need to learn how to all get along without it being awkward.”

I glared up at my pretend boyfriend, willing him to read the hugeNOin my eyes. This was a test, there was no doubt about it. This was so not Killian Davenport. I’d never heard of him going on a double date in all my years at Stonewall.

Kill fixed his taunting gaze on me. “So, what do you say, Lorelei?”

CHAPTER 25

SALACIOUS THOUGHTS

Axel

The crash of balls colliding into pins erupted around us, and the scent of beer, pizza, hotdogs, and sweat perfumed the air. The fluorescent lights shone harshly on the waxed hardwoods but somehow made Lorelei’s sun-kissed skin even more radiant.

“I suck at this, Ax.” Her glossy lips pulled into a pout that had me longing to bite them. “You can’t help. We’re going to lose. And Ihateto lose.”

“I’m a god at sports, blondie. When I’m done with you, you’ll be a bowling star.” I winked and grabbed her hips to adjust her stance. “I hate to lose too, so I never let it happen. I’m not starting now.”

The bowling alley was the last place I ever expected to find Lorelei Battenberg, but here she was, in a pair of jeans and a pink Zeta t-shirt that hugged her curves and showed a strip of toned abs.

I slipped my hand under hers as she held the scuffed green bowling ball. “Pull your arm back, swing it forward, and release the ball when I tell you.”
