"What are we going to tell Jamie?" she asks anxiously. I put a hand on her thigh once again. It's starting to feel natural. I rub her thigh, trying not to think about how hot it is that she's not wearing any panties, the ripped-up pair she wore earlier stuffed into my pocket. This whole thing is so worth the backlash we're going to get from her brother.

“Don’t worry. I’ll handle it,” I growl. “You’re mine now. He can’t stop us from being together.”

I lean over to kiss her and her lips sink into mine. I have to pull away fast before I get too lost in the kiss and fuck her right here in the car. Before we can do anything, we have to face Jamie.

I message Jamie and ask him to meet me at my apartment when he's done with his client. I drive Sophia back to my place, excited to show her the place where we'll share our lives together. Like I told her, she can do so much better than a crappy apartment. My penthouse will be better suited to a woman as incredible as her.

She stares in awe at my apartment building as we get out of the car. I wrap my arm around her waist.

"Wait until you see the bedroom," I growl in her ear. She blushes and giggles, sending an impulse through me to kiss her. I pull her into the elevator with me and give in to the urge, holding her close as we make out. I'm hard again already, even as my last load is still inside her. I know that something special happened back there. I know that new life will soon be growing inside her. We're going to have our first of many children in nine months, I just know it. As the elevator opens into my penthouse, I hold her close and let her stare at the open space.

“Welcome home, baby.”

She steps nervously into the apartment. This place has been my sanctuary for a long time. I've spent thousands on this place, making it into one of the nicest apartments in the city.

And one of the most expensive.

“I...I had no idea you lived like this,” Sophia whispers, taking in the vintage furniture, the expensive art, the incredible skyline. I fold my arms over my chest, pleased at her response.

“It’s all yours now.”

She takes in a deep breath, turning to look at me. The elevator closes and trundles away, but I'm focused on her. I kiss her again, unable to stop myself. I can't hold back when she's right there in front of me, looking so damn good. She wraps herself up in me again, kissing me back eagerly.

“I love you,” I growl, kissing her neck. She gasps.

“I love you too, Roman…”

I’m so lost in the kiss that I don’t notice that the elevator has come back up. I don’t notice the doors opening. I don’t notice anything at all except her until her brother’s voice cuts the scene in half.

“What the hell are you doing with my sister?”

Sophia

I leap away from Roman in shock. This isn’t how I wanted Jamie to find out I’m with his best friend. Today has been so crazy, from making love for the first time to moving in with Roman. I knew that telling Jamie about it all would be a wild ride, but I didn’t expect him to walk in on us kissing like this.

“Someone explain what thehellis going on,” Jamie snaps. Roman steps in front of me protectively.

“This isn’t how I wanted you to find out,” Roman growls. “But I’m sure we can be mature about this.”

“She’s my sister! I can’t believe you’re making out with my sister!” Jamie cries. “You’re supposed to be my best friend, Roman, but this is out of line.”

"You don't understand," Roman growls. "This isn't some hookup. I'm in love with Sophia."

Jamie blinks in shock, looking between the pair of us in horror. He shakes his head at me. “You can’t be serious.”

"Jamie...please try and understand," I tell him gently. "This has been three years in the making. I've been in love with him since I saw him last...at your birthday party. I've thought about him every single day since. This just feels...right. Don't you want me to be happy?"

"Sophia, don't turn this around on me. You can't possibly be in love with one another, you barely know each other."

"I love her more than anything and I would do anything for her," Roman growls, stepping forward to square up to Jamie. "If you have a problem with it, then you'll have to take it up with me right here, right now. I'm not messing around. She's the only woman I've ever cared about. I've wanted to be with her for a long time, and now that I know she feels the same, there's no chance I'm letting her slip away from me. We've made up our minds. We're going to be together. Your sister will be moving in here with me right away. You can't stop us. I don't want to fight with you...but she is my priority now. If you try and stand in our way, we're going to have issues."

My heart swells with love. He’s so protective of me, willing to stand up for me even against his best friend. It’s only now that I realize just how much he loves me. Even though I’m worried about how things might turn out with my brother, I feel so much happiness right now that I’m almost delirious.

Jamie doesn’t seem to know what to make of Roman’s little speech. He looks nervous, his gaze hopping between the two of us. He takes a deep breath.

“So...you’re in a relationship? You plan to be together long term?”

"We do," Roman growls assertively. "I'm going to marry your sister one day soon. We'll have a big family and we'll be happy. I hope you'll give us your blessing...but I'm having her with or without it. It's as simple as that."
