What did he just call me?

“Did you just call me an elephant?” I asked, incredulous.

“Didn’t you say they named you after that beautiful animal?” he asked, laughing.

“Are you trying to be funny? I told—”

“I know what you told me, Marfil,” he interrupted without missing a beat. “I also remember you saying elephants are your favorite animal. And as a reminder to you, I’ll say it again—it tracks.” He moved to the door and gestured for me to leave. “But that doesn’t make you any less annoying.”

“You just said I was breathtaking, now you’re calling me annoying… Yesterday you said I was unbearable…”

“You are.”

“And a spoiled brat,” I added, moving to the door.

“That’s undeniable.”

I stopped in front of him. “You can call me whatever you want… but you’re dying to kiss me.”

Sebastian pressed his lips together without taking his eyes off mine. Our attraction to each other seemed to become more obvious in the silence that stretched between us. I stood very still as he slowly leaned over, stopping his face just a few inches from my mouth. I held my breath and closed my eyes.

“You need to leave,” he said finally.

I opened my eyes and looked at him in surprise. “What?” I answered. “No.”

Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed deeply. “Please…”

“I want a kiss,” I said, crossing my arms.

Sebastian lowered his hand and looked at me in disbelief. “Marfil…”

“Don’tMarfilme. You were just about to kiss me a second ago.”

Sebastian seemed to be torn between killing me, kissing me, or pushing me out of the bathroom.

“You can’t tell me what to do.”

“And you can’t start something and leave it half finished,” I said, taking a step toward him.

“You can get as close as you want, but you’re not tall enough to kiss me,” he said without batting an eye.

He was right… but his lips weren’t the only part of him I could kiss.

Without taking my eyes off him, I gently pressed my lips into the highest part of him I could reach while standing on my tiptoes: his collarbone. I noticed his breathing hitched for a split second.

Suddenly, without as much as a flinch, I had his fingers gripping the back of my neck, pulling my head away, his face leveled with mine.

“You’re not used to anyone ever telling you no,” he began in a whisper. “But I’m a person with too much self-control for you to—”

I leaned forward without hesitating and pressed my mouth to his, interrupting his lecture.

God… my body was overwhelmed with pleasure.

Sebastian stiffened momentarily; I’d caught him by surprise. Key word beingmomentarily. Before I knew it, he began kissing me back, a hoarse groan escaping his throat.

Who had gotten their way?

I had.
