“Alright, you know what to do. Let’s get moving. Time is of the essence.” William clears his throat before dismissing us all and then leaves, followed by the others, including Caspian who manages to untangle himself from me before planting a kiss on my lips that leaves me breathless and panting for more.
“See you soon, mate. Maybe we can go for a swim together once we hit lightspeed.” He waves cheerfully, obviously refreshed from having himself wrapped around me.
Saxon kisses me swiftly before promising to see me soon and hurries off with the two cats and Xavier, who, to my disappointment, just waves an absent hand at me. I can’t deny that his response, or lack thereof, hurts, but Link soon distracts me.
“Come on, beautiful, let’s get you and those babies checked out.”
“Oh fuck, the babies.” My hand goes to my belly, and I sigh with relief at the small bump that is still there. I’m a total failure as a mother. I hadn’t even considered them while gorging myself on all the blood. Link must see my fear, because he quickly wraps an arm around me and pulls me into his side.
“They are fine. They were the first thing I checked, but it doesn’t hurt to be thorough. I have machines which have better diagnostics than my hand scan.”
I sag against him, my relief almost taking me to my knees. “God, I’m going to suck as a parent. It’s because I had no good examples growing up.”
“That’s partially untrue. For your first few years, you had excellent parents, and when you get those memories back, you will see.” Eric pats me on the hand as we make our way around the big ship to Link’s office. “Let’s get this done for everyone’s peace of mind, and then we have a prisoner to wrangle.” Eric looks positively gleeful, and I roll my eyes at his enthusiasm. Trust him to consider that fun.
I jump up on the table and lie back, closing my eyes. I’m ready to get this physical over with so I can get on with the fun.
BONUS SCENE

If this is your first time reading the Galaxy Circus, I would suggest skipping this scene until you have read it in its entirety because it may contain spoilers for future books. If you have already experienced this wild ride, then please continue. Hopefully these new scenes add another layer of enjoyment to the experience.
Echo
My stomach rolls with multiple emotions—part excitement, part nerves, and a whole heap of desire—as Max and I lead the Vilaxian general and warlock toward our quarters so they can toss Natalia into the brig. I’m so excited that my dreams are coming true, and we are finally going to be rid of the vicious she cat. Not only that, but her family is going to be deposed, and hopefully male omegas may gain protection once Max’s mother is in charge. I’m also terrified because I know she is not going to react well, and someone, mainly Max, might get hurt in theconfrontation. I’m also horny as hell from being interrupted just when Max was going to take care of my needs and the scent of the little human. I could scent her mating with the Vilaxian, and she made my mouth water, but I can’t help feeling a little guilty because I am being unfaithful to my mate.
I groan out loud, and all three of them turn to look at me with different expressions. Saxon just looks confused, Maxsim is definitely leaning toward annoyed and jealous, and the warlock just looks amused. I guess he can feel everything I’m going through at the moment, as is the warlock way. Though I am surprised that he isn’t covered in his misty glamour that usually enshrouds his body, so I look my fill, and I am astonished to find him as attractive as all the rumors say he is.
“See something you like, kitty?” he purrs, one side of his mouth kicking up in a smirk.
Maxsim growls low and snarls at the warlock, who throws his head back and laughs before holding his hands up in defense.
“Hey. I’m sorry, I was just teasing. Your omega is a delicious riot of emotions, and although I’m not actively feeding on them, I can’t help but be affected by them.”
He sounds sincere, and Maxsim acknowledges his admission with a grunt but grabs hold of my paw and tugs me closer to him.
“Echo is getting close to his heat, and I was in the process of trying to ease his ache when the meeting was called. As soon as we take care of getting that she beast out of our den, I will make sure he is so satisfied you will never feel that again,” he snarls, jealousy running through our bond, and my stomach lurches again.
I am such a bad mate to this wonderful, possessive alpha.
“Hmmm,” Xavier hums with speculation, looking between the two of us. “Don’t close yourself off to possibilities, alpha cat. After all, being close-minded is what brought Natalia to hercurrent situation,” he warns, and I feel Maxsim’s fur bristle with agitation.
“I am nothing like that hell bitch,” he growls as the elevator arrives, and we step into it.
“Are you sure?” General Saxon asks, crossing his arms and staring my mate down. “My sense of smell is just as sensitive as yours, and I could scent your aggression toward my blood rose, as well as your omega’s attraction.”
“I … ah… um,” I stammer, surprised that he would call us out like that. Maxsim looks at me with hurt in his eyes.
“Don’t bother denying it and lying to us. If we are going to be around each other for a while, I’d like us to at least be honest with one another,” Xavier states bluntly. “I have a feeling that Lila is going to keep surprising us, and what Saxon failed to mention is that we could sense her attraction to you as well.”
My eyes widen with surprise, and Maxsim growls again.
“I am not attracted to her. She is not a lightning cat and is not good enough for my omega.”
My mouth drops open, and I stiffen at his words. There it is again, that speciest crap, just like Natalia.
Saxon rumbles his own irritation, his red eyes blazing with anger, but Xavier just chuckles.
