KD nodded and extended his hand for Supreme to shake. “I wouldn’t have it any other way, brother.”

“I like how you two clowns are talking about me like I’m not standing right here.”

“I’m sorry, Princess. You know I love you,” KD said, grabbing my waist and pulling me to him.

“I love you too, Klever.” I blushed.

“I missed you while I was gone. You took care of my girl for me?”

“No, I wanted to wait for you so you could handle her in your special way.”

“You know what? I don’t even know what the fuck that means. Let me go before I throw up in my mouth,” Supreme said, shaking his head as he walked away.

“I love you, Brother. Thank you for always looking out for me.”

“Uh-uh, I already said that’s that man’s job now,” Supreme announced.

“Oh wow! You want to do it like that?”

“Yes, ma’am. Refer to your husband with all your wants, needs, and all that from now on.”

“You know I got you, right?” KD asked, tightening his grip on my waist as he turned me to face him.

“Yes, I do, and I’ve got you too.”

“I’m trying to do this forever, Princess. You with me?”

I winked. “Forever and ever, baby.”

Snatching up my hand, he pulled me behind him. “Let me get you home and show you how much I appreciate my good girl.”

6Months Later . . .

There was complete mayhem around me. Laughing, music, children running all over the place, groups of different ages working through dance routines. It was loud and chaotic, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Just months ago, I thought I was losing everything. Now every class was full. Every student had returned. Everything was running like clockwork.

“Ma!” I looked up and smiled when JJ came running into the building a few feet in front of KD. I lit up seeing my favorite guys.

“Hey, baby. Did you enjoy yourself with your dad?”

As hard as it was for me for the first few weeks, I finally allowed myself to accept Jaylen for what he was. Just because I had completely washed my hands with him didn’t mean I would keep his son away from him. For now, KD had been helping with drop-offs. Thankfully, he had been able to keep his hands to himself. Jaylen must have been grateful or scared of another ass whupping because he had Rebecca to drop the charges against me.

Just a few days ago, Rebecca had the baby. Although she and Jaylen weren’t even together anymore, Jaylen was staying at thehouse to help. JJ was excited to meet his little brother, so I made sure not to talk shit about the situation.

“Yeah, I had fun, even though the baby slept the whole time. He was so little I was scared to hold him.”

“That’s good, baby.”

“K said we’re going to the movies tonight. We get to pick this time. We’re not watching another girl movie. Right, K?”

“That’s right, Jaylen. Your mom almost had me crying at that sad behind movie about the lost girl.”

“Oh wow. So you two are ganging up on me again?” I shook my head, loving every second of it.
