I gripped her by her hair and yanked her off the couch, hitting her the entire time.

Niecy reached for me to try to break us up and Charm started swinging on her.

I only whacked Retta a few good times before I wrapped my other hand in her hair and started dragging her while she screamed. I backed into the door of the booth and hit it openwith my body to drag her inside. Then I popped her in her mouth again before letting her go.

“Get the fuck up and sing the fucking song!” I barked. “I’m fucking tired of you!”

I stepped over her to get out of the booth and grabbed Charm’s arm to pull her away from Niecy. As soon as she stopped swinging, I punched Niecy one good time and started fucking her up too.

The men let us fight for a little before dragging us apart and I huffed and puffed while I walked back and forth in the little space trying to catch my breath. My shoulder was burning and I was still very much irritated.

“If you’re going to be in here, sit yo’ ass down and shut the fuck up,” I warned. “You bitches are getting too comfortable playing with me and my man and you’re going to get your weird ass brother shot up trying to be funny.”

“Myome—”

I lifted my hand like I was about to smack fire from her mouth and she snapped it shut.

Shade whistled.

“You running this studio like The Marines, huh?” Dashawn chuckled.

“Somebody has to.” I forced a smile on my face. “Alan, can you get Retta recorded and out of here please?”

“Yeah. I got you.” He moved over to the soundboard and started setting up.

“You that nigga Drix’s twin for real.” Shade shook his head as he slipped his safety back on. “It’s actually kind of scary.”

“Thank you.” I smiled then glared at Retta who was looking at her reflection through her phone’s camera and sniffling while she tried to flatten her hair.

I rolled my eyes but didn’t address her. Instead, Charm and I got to work picking up the larger pieces of the broken lamp.

“Thanks for having my back,” I said.

“Girl, you know I got you. I was ready to pepper spray the fuck out of that man if we started losing.”

We both laughed as we worked, then I collected a broom and vacuum and made sure I didn’t leave any pieces of glass behind.

Afterwards, I sat between Alan and Shade at the soundboard while Charm and Dashawn talked about their own music as Retta recorded. Dashawn was apparently helping Charm write some of her album while he wrote his own and ghostwrote for Merch and a few other big name artists. He claimed he could handle his ghostwriting stuff and writing for himself and so far he was doing well balancing it all.

It took a few hours for Retta to finish, but when she was done, she and Niecy headed out and I sent the complete track straight to the record label.

“And may I never have to see Retta or Niecy again,” I announced as I slammed the laptop shut.

“They should be saying they never want to see yo’ ass again after how you were dragging them through here,” Shade mumbled.

“You ain’t know Myome gets in the field?” Alan asked. “The night her and Drix met, they were fighting outside of Trapp’s album release party.”

“And they were fighting Trapp,” Charm added.

I rolled my eyes while the room laughed.

“Whatever. I’m going home.” I stood and grabbed my purse. “But I hope y’all make some magic tonight.”

“Me too.” Dashawn exhaled.

“I’m gon’ walk y’all out.” Alan stood.

“Awww. You worried about us?” Charm stuck her lip out.
