She groaned and I kissed her again before she snuggled further into my side.

I looked at my phone again, exhaled, and submitted my album for release. I tossed it on the bedside table without watching to see if it actually went up and wrapped my arm around Myome.

“I love you.”

“I love you too,” she mumbled and I let my eyes flutter shut.

When I woke up the next morning I had over a hundred messages and thousands of online notifications. I didn’t check any of them. I muted all that shit and headed downstairs where I found Myome, Charm, and Alan in our studio working on their duet.

I didn’t bother them. Instead, I went to the kitchen and got to work making breakfast. I made bacon, eggs, and pancakes and plated them.

Myome, Charm, and Alan all came in at the same time and I did a double take when my phone started ringing on the counter beside me and quickly snatched it up.

“Pops? You good?” I asked immediately.

“Yeah. I’m good.”

“Good.” I exhaled. “What’s up?”

“I see your album is out.”

“Yeah. It is.”

I opened an arm as Myome walked in, wrapped an arm around her, and kissed her.

“Congratulations, son. I’m proud of you.”

I smiled and nodded.

“Thanks.”

We talked for a little while more, and after we finished, the four of us had breakfast. It was nice being with them, laughing and joking.

I hadn’t realized how much I’d missed my wife until this moment and I couldn’t keep my hands off her. I wanted a hand on her shoulder or waist or knee whenever possible, and afterbreakfast, we walked Charm and Alan out then collapsed on the couch together.

I groaned as I melted into it.

“Being off that hospital furniture is life changing,” I admitted and Myome giggled.

“I bet it is.” She lay against me and I wrapped an arm around her.

“Thank you for everything you’ve been doing while I’ve been…”

“Taking care of our family?” she asked.

“Being overbearing with my father,” I admitted.

“It’s okay, Berlin. That’s something I love about you. You’re overbearing about everything.”

“About everything?” I repeated.

“Everything you care about,” she clarified. “Your music and my career and our family and me.” Myome smiled. “I love you just the way you are and I wouldn’t change it.”

“Yeah but I know it wasn’t really fair to just dip out on my responsibilities and shit.”

“You needed the breather, and honestly, I’ve seen all the shit you do. If you need to recharge, I’ve got you.”

“I know. Thank you, Twin. For real. You don’t know how much it means to me that you didn’t just keep the label afloat but made some positive changes. I appreciate you.” I kissed her. “A lot.”
