“Nice to meet you.” Myome shook each of their hands while I saved the work we’d done and slid my drive out of the soundboard.
“What time is everyone free tomorrow?” I asked.
“Any time,” Balee said quickly.
I nodded. “Does four work?”
“Sure.”
“We’ll meet here at the label. Be on time. We got a lot done but there’s still a lot we need to polish up before we put anything out.”
“Okay. We’ll be on time.”
“A’ight. Cool.” I climbed to my feet and offered Myome my hand.
I held her hand in mine and gestured for the trio to lead the way. We all walked out together and Myome and I stood in front of the building while we watched them get into their vehicles before heading toward my truck.
“Where are you going? I’m driving,” Myome announced.
“Since when do you drive me around?”
“Berlin, how am I supposed to surprise you when giving you directions? I’m driving.” She lightly pulled my hand toward her car and I sighed but followed her lead.
After I got into the passenger seat, Myome took her time putting a blindfold over my eyes and kissing me softly before locking me in and making her way to the driver’s seat. I reclined my seat, crossed my arms over my chest, and got comfortable.
Myome sang to the music playing and I enjoyed her voice while I relaxed. I was damn near falling asleep to her voice when her car finally stopped and she hopped out. I sat up when I heard the car door open.
She ran her hands over my shoulders before drifting up to my face and removing the blindfold. I smiled as soon as my eyes focused on my wife.
“Come on.” Myome shimmied a bit in excitement.
“Alright.” I hopped out, slammed her door shut, and froze.
Myome had driven me to a dock and there was a nice-sized boat in front of us. I looked from the boat to my wife.
“What are we doing?”
“Dating.” Myome grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the boat.
“You trying to tell me I don’t date you enough, baby?”
“It’s not a competition, Berlin.”
“Feels like it.”
I whistled as Myome led me onto the boat and I looked around the space.
“So what do you think?”
“It’s nice.” I ran my thumb along the outside of her hand.
“Thank you.” She bounced happily.
We turned and I blinked several times at the fully set table in front of us with damn near more balloons than I’d even seen for my birthday.
“Myome?” My eyebrows knitted together and she spun to look at me with a huge smile on her face.
“Congratulations on your platinum album!” she cheered and clapped.
