“Because I don’t want to hurt you,” I answered candidly.“Because you were shot and-”

“I’m fine,” she lied, cutting me off.“I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.”

“The two bandages on your arm and waist say otherwise,” I replied pointedly.

“Viktor, I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t one-hundred percent okay,” she said.“Do you really think that my family would have let me come here alone if I wasn’t?”

“Why did they let you come here alone?”I asked, her unguarded freedom something that was unheard of in our lives.

Sidestepping that question, she asked, “Do you really want to talk about my family right now?”

“No.”

“Then what do you want?”

“You...I only want you,” I answered truthfully.“You’re all I’m ever going to want.”

“Well, I’m here,” she said.

“Yeah, but for how long?”I asked seriously.“How long before I turn around, and you’re gone again. How long before you’ve gotten your revenge and no longer need me?”

Aurora’s head jerked back in surprise a bit.“Is that what you think this is?”

“I don’t know,” I quickly replied.“Right now, all I know is that letting you walk out that door again is not an option for me.I will never let another night pass without you in our bed, never mind weeks.”

In true Marchetti fashion, she said, “Then you better do everything that you can to make sure that’s where I want to be.”

Very aware of her injuries, I reached down, then grabbed my wife by her hips, lifting her until she automatically wrapped her legs around my waist, then I walked us over to my desk, sitting her down on a bunch of shit that I didn’t care about at the moment.

As soon as I had her where I wanted her, I removed her shirt completely, doing my best to ignore the bandages. Then, reaching down, I removed those deadly heels of hers, already knowing what she could do with them.Once those were off, I reached for her pants, and with Aurora’s help, I pulled them down over her legs until they were discarded alongside the rest of her clothing.Left in only her bra and panties, there was only one thing left to do.

Make up for three fucking weeks.

I leaned down, then placed a kiss on her left shoulder.“I don’t know how I made it these past couple of weeks without you.I also don’t know how I’m going to ever let you out of my sight again.”

“I’m not some fragile rose petal,” she replied softly, but she couldn’t be more wrong.

Lifting my head from kissing her soft skin, I said, “You say that like I didn’t watch a video of you fighting for your life a million times.”

“Which proves my point.”

“It only proves that I need to do a better job of taking care of you,” I countered before my lips found her sweet skin again, my wife dropping her head back to give me more access to her neck.“Open your legs for me, baby.”

As soon as Aurora did what I’d instructed, I stepped in between her thighs, my dick already hard as a rock.Luckily for me, as soon as I pressed up against her, she pushed her hips back, needing to feel me just as badly as I needed to feel her.

“Viktor...”she mewled, and it was enough to steal my breath.I never thought that I’d ever hear her say my name like that again, and now that she’d had, it was fucking everything to me.

“Tell me that you missed me, baby,” I ordered.“Even if it’s a fucking lie, just say it.”

“Viktor, I don’t lie,” she said softly.

I lifted my head to look at her, and once I had her attention, I said, “I watched you get shot and stabbed, so I need you to just lie for me this one time, baby.”

Aurora reached up, grabbed my chin, then said, “I missed you, Viktor,”

Now, while she sounded sincere, her dark gaze gave nothing away, and vulnerability was not a feeling that I was familiar with, and I definitely did not like it.It was clear as day that Aurora had the upper hand here, and while I had suspected it early on in our marriage, it was now a fact, and she probably didn’t even care.Aurora Marchetti was confident enough not to need validation about any-damn-thing, and while sexy as hell, it was also a very dangerous thing to be true.

So, sticking with something that we both knew was certain, I said, “Tell me that you want me.”
