“Aww, cousin… I’m so happy for you,” she sang.

“Thank you, B. I couldn’t let him slip through my fingers twice.”

“I know that’s right. So, where you at?”

“The Marriot. Can you bring me a bag of clothes? I’ll probably spend the weekend here and under him.”

“Of course. I’m being nosy so don’t shoo me away. How was the dick?”

“Afashoyourrighton!”

“Ten!” we yelled in unison referencing Keith Lee from TikTok.

It felt good to pop my shit about Ja. Since high school we avoided one another which made this time more special. He gave me what I’d been craving, and he didn’t disappoint. He still had my body floating from a natural high.

“Man, I’m happy for you for real cuz.”

“Thanks B. I’ll kick it with you for the rest of the week after I leave him before I head back to school. You cool with that?”

“Of course. I ain’t no cock blocking bitch. Do you, have fun, and call me when you need me. I’ll drop your things off when I get off work.”

“That works. I love you Stinkabutt.”

“Love you too Jellybean.”

We disconnected the call right on time. I was entering the restaurant to grab our food. Settling on a simple sample platter, I was heading back out the door and across the parking lot. I couldn’t wait to dig the fuck in, and I knew he could eat as well.

Entering the hotel lobby, I noticed there was a little commotion coming from behind the wall where the elevators were. I couldn’t hear well, but I knew Ja voice better than anyone’s. I approached with caution but quickly saw what the fuss was about. A smirk surfaced as I shook my head.

“Stalking leads to a prison sentence. Please get some intervention,” I said interrupting her rant.

Syd stopped yelling and turned around to see who had him here in the first place. She looked me up and down scowling at me the entire time. I already knew what she was thinking because every time I saw them together, I had the same thoughts. Why her?

“Really Ja? This the type of shit you on? Why you keep hurting me like this?”

“You hurting yourself. I ain’t touched you or talked to you in forever. Leave me alone bruh. I’m telling you what’s real and you ain’t trying to hear it.”

“So, me loving you means nothing? The attachment I have to you means nothing?”

“I appreciate your feelings for me, but I can’t reciprocate that shit. I stopped loving you a long time ago. You ain’t for me. Plain and simple.”

I listened to them bicker and began to feel sad because she was really in love with Jasir. He was a good man and somehow, she managed to lose him. It could’ve been that Ja matured in a different direction than her and now they couldn’t communicate but they didn’t mix well from the beginning… in my opinion.

“Look, he’s no longer interested in whatever y’all had. I get you love him, but so do I. One of us is going to lose and itain’t me. Jasir outgrew you; I suggest you come to terms with that. You can love him because he’sthatnigga, but it won’t be reciprocated because that’s all for me. That nigga was made for me that’s why he didn’t fit you. I get why you want him so bad but he’s unavailable.”

The elevator doors opened on time. I grabbed Ja’s hand and pulled him inside with me. The hurt that was on her face pulled at me a little because regardless of how I felt about Syd she was still another black woman going through heartbreak. However, Ja was something she had to get over.

“Ja. Ja!” She yelled his name to get him to respond but he pressed the button to shut the doors on her.

“You love me?” he asked with a smile on his face.

“I’ve loved your ass since the first time we spoke. I don’t care who had you before, I’m not letting you be with anyone else now. The shit we did last night solidified our relationship.”

“I’m glad we on the same page. I didn’t know where your thoughts were, but you were leaving with a nigga on your arm.”

I laughed at his response. Ja claimed me several times over last night and it didn’t do shit but make a bitch cum harder. I was with the person I’d been wanting for years, and it felt damn good to have him.

We made it back to the room and enjoyed our breakfast. I still had questions, so I decided to ask. Beating around the bush or wondering about what ifs wasn’t my thing.
