"All of the above," Oren suggested, running downstairs. "I was wondering where you two got to."
"We have to feed our omegas," Grayson said with a grin. "Now that we've all slept enough, it's time to refuel and make a plan for the future."
In the end we did as Oren suggested and ordered a little of everything. By the time the food arrived, the other two were awake and had come downstairs to join us.
"Dig in." Grayson had arranged all the food on the dining room table, grouping pastries on one end and cooked food on the other.
I grabbed a sticky bun and some hash browns, but Jude piled some scrambled eggs on my plate, too.
"You need protein."
Finally, we all went out onto the deck that overlooked the lake and ate out there. I snuggled up on a giant chair with Oren and we took turns feeding each other bites.
"Our omegas are so cute together," Grayson said, watching us with love in his eyes.
"It's so pretty here. I can't believe we missed almost a week of this view." I looked out over the lake. A few ducks were swimming out there, leaving ripples in the glass-like water as they slid through the water with ease.
A feeling of solid contentment flowed through the bonds. We all felt it and that made me happy.
After breakfast, Santi grabbed his tablet and came back out. "I've already registered Emilia as a new pack member, so that's done, but we need somewhere to live."
"We don't have to move. I hate that you have to leave your home because of me."
Oren threw an arm around me. "Baby, we can't stay there either. We'd probably do something everyone would regret if we saw those guys again. Trust me, we want a new place as much as you do."
"Okay, what are our non-negotiables?" Santi asked.
"Big ass nest," Oren said immediately.
"With attached bathroom," I added.
"A yard for Gertie," Jude said. The dog in question perked her ears up from where she lay at Grayson's feet.
"Definitely a yard. But also, maybe a porch?" I suggested. "I want to spend more time outside. I'm never going days without fresh air again."
"Agreed." Santi tapped away on his tablet. "Anything else?"
"Big kitchen," Grayson said. "Now there are three of us who like to cook, so we'll need room for everyone."
"And I like to watch." Oren grinned. "And taste test."
We sat in silence for a bit, the brisk wind off the lake making me shiver. Oren pulled a heavy plaid blanket over the two of us and snuggled me closer to him.
"Okay, I have a few options here." Santi scooted his chair closer to us and the other two moved in as he held up the screen to show us the first house. He flipped through the photos. The place was large, but it seemed outdated, with avocado-colored walls and orange counters in the kitchen.
The first four houses were quickly vetoed and I was losing interest when Santi showed us the last one. It was perfect. Whitesiding with black trim, a huge veranda that ran around three sides of the house and a massive, fenced yard for Gertie. Inside was equally as perfect.
We all looked at each other.
"I like it," I said.
"Yeah, this is the one." Oren nodded.
"Take it," Jude said.
"Alright. We'll go see it tomorrow and if you still like it, we'll put in an offer."
"Wait, can you afford it with the other house you just paid for a few months ago?" I worried.
