“This is my daughter.”

He announces to anyone who will listen, and as we sit in the booth, his arm never leaves my shoulders for a second.

Food arrives, it’s most welcome, and we catch up on life and what happened since I left.

“Have you heard from Devon and Axel?”

I’m anxious for news, and he nods. “They should be home next month on leave.”

“Thank God for that.”

He leans closer and whispers, “Word is they’re done with the military. They have a big announcement, and I don’t know what it can be, but it must be good if they’re giving up the job they love.”

Razor smiles, and for some reason, I can tell he already knows and I raise my eyes, and he grins, turning to yet more waffles that appear to be the last ones he hasn’t tried yet on the menu.

Something is telling me it’s all good though, and as I settle back into my life with my family, I picture a few new faces around the table in the years to come.

Razor willneverbe his father; he is the opposite of that, and as our family grows, we will become better and make their childhood the best one possible.

Our journey hasn’t been easy but we got there in the end and through it all I never stopped loving my man.

EPILOGUE

SANTIAGO

The Intervention

Ican’t believe Sophie Clere has asked me to dance with her. She is a goddess. The one woman Los Angeles desires above all others and the most elusive. I have attempted on many occasions to engineer a meeting with her. A chance encounter in a restaurant. A gala evening, or a charity event. But she is so heavily guarded that I never get close. Until tonight. Until she walked toward me and stared me straight in the eye with an expression of lust I would be a fool to ignore.

She must have realized I am a powerful man who is worthy of her attention. She took her time, but she obviously got there in the end.

The guy with her doesn’t stand a chance against me. Then again, these pretty boys never do. Women like Sophie desire a real man, and I am more than up to the job.

I park Josephine for later pleasure. One I am anticipating and savoring like a fine wine. Tonight, she will learn what it is to be mine. My slave. My toy. My indulgence.

But now there is a more attractive proposition in my sight, and as I take Sophie into my arms, every eye in the room is trained on us. It’s as if we are the new power couple. The one everyone wants to be associated with. The first names on the guest list.

In dancing with her which means my public profile has risen to stratospheric heights, and I have arrived—socially speaking. This is my catapult into the big time, and I will not mess this up.

I’m respectful as I slide one arm around her narrow waist and hold her hand that sparkles with diamonds. Her eyes penetrate mine; I don’t miss the hunger in them.

I lick my lip, running my tongue along it, promising her more pleasure than a body could stand if she only gives the right signals.

Her whisper against my ear causes my balls to ache, her tone sultry.

“We meet at last, Santiago.”

“It’s been a long time coming.”

Pleasure is evident in her soft laugh, and her voice is seductive as she grips my hand a little tighter.

“You have been avoiding me.”

“Never.”
