“Nope,” Wyn said, balancing her coffee mug on her stomach.“Queegly turned up at our door. He’s living in our base now.”
Larry, GG and Dalton gaped at her.“How did he find you?”Dalt asked.
“Fate led him to us,” Tol said.“He had a vision that evil preppers were going to discover his base.He packed everything up and drove all the way from Texas to our home.”
“We’re making some adjustments to a nearby cabin and he’ll move in as soon as we’re done,” his mate said.“Xan’s working on getting his equipment up and running. He’ll be back on the air as soon as she’s finished.”
“So, the Mad Prophet’s real name is Queegly?”Dalton asked with a grin.
“Queegly Crantz,” Tol said.“Grace nicknamed him Queeg and the human doesn’t seem to mind.”
“What’s he like?”GG asked in fascination.
“You’ll get to meet him yourself soon,” Wyn figured.“He’s intense and a bit spooky to be around.I get the feeling he sees a lot more than he lets on.”
“It will be a relief when the oracle moves into the cabin,” her knight admitted.“I always feel like he can see deeply into my soul whenever he looks at me.”
Wynter nodded in agreement.“He’ll still visit us frequently, but I think he needs his own space as well.”
“I’m glad Fate guided Mr.Crantz to you,” Larry said.“We’ll all need as much help as we can get in the months and years ahead.Being given prior warning of danger will be essential to enable us to gather as many allies as we can.”
“Qiana mentioned her hospital is up and running,” Wynter said to change the subject.
The preacher nodded in excitement.“We have a couple of nurses who survived the Rapture,” he said.“Our guardian angel has been working with them to set up a clinic. The nurses can treat lesser injuries, while the doc will heal the major ones.”
“Xan picked a great location for you all,” GG said in admiration.“You guys have got everything you need right here.”
“We’re far enough away from Manhattan and the interstates and freeways to be safe from our enemies,” Pastor Hogan agreed.“So far, we haven’t spotted anyone on the cameras Xanthia set up.I have people watching for danger around the clock.”
“That’s wise,” Dalt said. His long legs were stretched out and he was the picture of ease.Larry noticed the cowboy always sat next to GG.He hoped they could move on from their pasts and finally become the couple they’d always been destined to be again.
“I need to talk to you privately when we get a chance,” GG whispered to her bestie when the guys started talking about a recent gaming tournament the knights had staged.
“Of course,” Wyn said, brow wrinkling in concern.GG didn’t look like she was worried about anything, but she was tenser than usual. The cambion decided she couldn’t wait and turned to speak to her mate.“GG and I are going to have some girl talk together,” she said, then struggled to her feet.“We’ll be back soon,” she said to the males.
GG looked startled, but got up to assist her best friend to stand up.They wandered out into the hallway and took a seat on some chairs Zoe had placed there.People often came to visit the pastor, so their matriarch had planned ahead.
Wynter waited for GG to speak, sensing she needed to gather her thoughts.
