Laughing over nothing.
Friends.
Real friends.
Not people who disappear the second life gets hard.
Not people who only call when they need something.
Still, I don't know if I should be talking about Micah and me just yet.
Last night was...wow.
I mean, last night changed everything.
At least it changed everything for me.
Sure, he went all possessive with the mine stuff.
My cheeks warm at the memory.
God.
The way he looked at me?
Like I was something he'd been searching for without realizing it.
Like I was precious.
Like I mattered.
The way he said mine.
My stomach does a funny little flip.
That could've just been the heat of the moment.
People say all sorts of things when emotions are running high.
Especially after a night like ours.
Especially after everything we'd both been through.
God, I hope...
I hope it was more than that.
I hope when Micah looks at me, he sees a future instead of just a really intense night.
Because if I'm being brutally honest with myself, I already do.
And that's terrifying.
We've only just crossed that line.
I don't want to jinx it by making announcements before he and I have even had the chance to sit down and talk.
I want to hear what he wants.
