“What makes you so sure of that?”

“Because he works for you.” What business does she have with one of my arms dealers?

“Let’s say I tell you what you want to know. What exactly are your plans with Petrov?” Ivan is a feared Bratva boss, and I dread the thought of his brute force damaging her pretty face.

“I’m going to kill him,” she replies, a sinister smile forming on her lips.

Leaning in slightly, I say, “You want me to tell you where one of my men is so that you can kill him?”

“Yes,” she answers.

I let out a hearty laugh. “You must not know who the fuck I am if you think I would help you.”

“Please,” she pleads, her grip on my arm tightening.

“Tell me, why? Why do you want to kill Ivan?” My curiosity is piqued.

“I can’t tell you that,” she insists, shaking her head.

“Then I can’t tell you where he is.”

“But I can pay you!” she offers, her grip tightening in desperation.

I shake her hand off me. “I don’t need your money.”

A quick glance at her dress reveals that the cute, snug fabric isn’t high-end. She doesn’t even have enough money to pay for this meeting, which I’m granting her solely on the basis that I want to fuck her.

With a defeated expression, she slowly turns her head away from me, a soft whimper escaping her lips. By now, it’s clear that Ivan has done something to her, something deeply personal.

She places her hand on the door handle, and I grab hold of her leg to stop her from leaving. She turns to me, her brown eyes burning with intent, a need for vengeance.

Her intense desire to kill him has captured my attention. It isn’t just something I can shake off for some reason that evenI don’t understand. “If I decide to help you, my payment won’t come from a bank.”

Oh, no, Krasotka, you’ll be tied in my basement while I fuck you until my cock falls off. Maybe I’ll let you go when you’re bruised, broken, and defeated.

She nods her head, her wide eyes sparkling with hope as if I have just delivered her a lifeline.

I give her a polite dismissal, tapping on the darkened window separating me from the driver, signaling that it’s time to start the vehicle and move off.

She pauses for a moment before opening the door. Turning to me, she meets my gaze with that same unsettling smile. “I really wish you had just told me where he is.”

Without warning, a sharp pain shocks through my neck. I instinctively raise my hands to defend myself, but a chilling numbness has immobilized me.

She leans over me. “Good night, Daddy Brigadier,” she whispers, planting a soft kiss on my cheek just before darkness takes over.

CHAPTER THREE

VALENTIN

Footsteps scuffle nearby, pulling me from sleep. My mind stirs, but my eyelids refuse to lift.

The last thing I recall is a beautiful young woman, then darkness. Did I drink so much last night that I blacked out?

My eyes flicker open and close, catching fleeting glimpses of a dirty cement floor. Gradually, I wake, the darkness pierced by a single flickering bulb that casts a weak yellow glow.

“There you are, handsome.”

I look up at the sound of her voice and see the girl standing there.
