She crosses out the line and stares at the fourth, the one that neither of them has talked about yet, where Olga has written: "What does Violeta want?"

"Well then?" Olga asks after a pause. "Would you consider something?"

Violeta looks at her thoughtfully and finally nods.

"Yes, of course I would. I've never felt this attraction or the connection I have with you with anyone, if this keeps going like this, of course I would dive into the pool with you."

Olga is somewhat surprised by Violeta's certainty, then she takes the notebook, tears off the page, and crumples it into a ball that she leaves on the table.

"What does that mean?" Violeta asks, frightened.

"That everything is clear, but I don't want us to rush into things either, Violeta. We barely know each other, we know that we work wonderfully in bed and that we get along well outside of it, but it doesn't seem enough to me to take a step like that with what it implies."

"You're saying that because of my mother," Violeta says, making a face.

"She's having a hard time, Violeta, and I don't know to what extent she would agree with this. Let's let the days go by and see what happens, okay?"

"But we need to spend time together, Olga. How are we going to find out if what we're starting to feel is going somewhere if we hardly see each other?"

"We'll see each other at the bakery, and in the afternoon you can come here."

"On the second I have to go back to work, we barely have a week left and the days go by very quickly."

Olga smiles, takes both her cheeks and kisses her to silence her as she straddles her.

"We'll find time and excuses. Now touch me."

Olga puts her hand between her legs over her pants. Violeta feels the burning and the wetness and again that impulse they can't control takes over them, dragging them to the bed.

Chapter 14

"It's super late," Olga says, stressed, getting dressed for the third time this morning. "Your mother will be here soon and we haven't done anything."

"Speak for yourself, I've torn off all that." Violeta points to one of the walls and the pile of paper lying on the floor.

Olga smiles, kisses her on the cheek, and goes straight to her purse to get money.

"Go on, do me a favor and go to the prepared food store to buy something to eat. It'll look really weird if I go and your mother finds you here alone. I'll tear off a little more paper, clean this up, and I'll get in the kitchen to set the table."

Violeta accepts the bill and looks at Olga, unable to hold back her laughter.

"What are you laughing at?"

"At you. Don't stress out. My mother doesn't know how far along you had the room or if it's hard to tear off this paper or not. We'll tell her it's really stuck on there and it's very time-consuming."

"Are you always such a liar?" Olga puts her hands on her hips and narrows her eyes.

"It's not a lie, we're just camouflaging the truth a bit, and we're doing it to make you feel good, don't forget that. What do you want me to buy?"

Violeta waves the bill in the air.

"Whatever you two like, I eat everything."

Violeta looks her up and down and Olga feels the current run through her body like a gust again.

"Damn, get out of my room right now," she orders authoritatively, pointing to the door.

"Okay." Violeta laughs and crosses the door, ready to leave, but Olga holds her back by grabbing her arm.
