“I love it on you,” he murmured, and his hands moved possessively over my breasts, stomach, and hips. “Damn, you’re so sexy. Alluring. I can’t keep my hands off you.”
My cheeks warmed. “Rocco…” I sang out in mock-exasperation. I did love hearing how much he wanted me, but he hadn’t recovered.
“You are, and I can’t resist you,” he said. His hand reached low on my stomach, and I placed mine over it.What would it feel like with our baby inside?
Rocco moved his hands away and let out a shaky laugh. “What are you doing?”
“Uhm, nothing.” I bit my lip and moved my head under the spray.
He placed a kiss on my shoulder. “You all right?” His tone was light, but I knew he hadn’t missed what I’d done.
I turned my head toward him and put on my best smile. “Yeah, well, uhm, a lot has happened—”
“Like what?”
“Not yet. Let’s have a little time to ourselves. You’ve just got back.”
He winced as he rubbed shampoo into his hair, and I helped him. “Yeah. I need a break.”
There were bruises and scrapes on his body reminding me of the danger he’d been in. I grimaced. “You must be in pain. Why did you snowmobile?”
“It’s usually fun. My injuries are nothing compared to George. He broke his leg and arm.”
I grimaced. “Oh, my goodness. How?”
“He’s an idiot.”
I frowned. “Why do you think that? It was an accident. Right?”
“Yes, it was. But what do you call a man who made crew film his self-designed snowmobile during a blizzard?”
“I’d call him an ass. George studied automotive engineering?”
He snorted. “Nope. He had it built with his ‘trust me, bro’ tech wits.”
“That’s insane.”
“Yep. And I’d gone against my better judgment riding with him. Rick said the snowmobile threw him like a rag doll.”
“That’s awful. But I thought he was your friend.”
“He was. And get this, while I was on the it with him, he announced he’s creating his own movie studio instead of investing in mine.”
My mouth dropped open. “What the hell? No way.”
He touched his heart and pointed up. “To God.”
I snorted. “Wow, I’m surprised. Your mom wasn’t too keen on him, but he seemed genuinely interested. What a jerk.”
Rocco smirked. “Yep. I knew he was a flake, but I took it as a test to see how desperate I am for his investment.”
I grimaced. “You’re not.”
“Not enough to debase myself further to his whims.”
“Why bother with him at all?”
“Because having investors is the only way to do it. It’s business.”
