As Chill and Zeke stood, Rage pushed away from the wall and turned toward Vi. “Keep us updated.”
“Who do you want as the point of contact?” She lifted a finger. “And don’t say all three of you. It’s not going to happen.”
After he and Zeke exchanged glances, the prez said, “Make it Rage since sometimes I ain’t available when I got Ledger with me.”
Damn.More proof that Zeke was starting to use his brain to make decisions instead of his dick or emotions. Or his temper.
“You got it.”
As the three of them went to leave, Vi called out, “Hey!”, making them pause near the doorway. “Did you ask your biker board whether Reaper will get to wear DAMC colors?”
Biker board? Vi, having both DAMC blood and being a member of the Angels of Fury, was simply busting their balls. Like normal.
Zeke answered with, “Will let you know soon’s we do. But you know it ain’t only up to the officers, the majority of the membership gotta agree.”
“Like I said, we’ll get this done. You get that done.”
Rage glanced at Reaper, who hadn’t moved an inch from where he leaned against the wall. His face was a blank mask.
If the Shadow really wanted to wear a DAMC cut, he sure was letting Vi push for it instead of doing it himself.
The fuck if Rage would ever let a woman speak for him.
Chapter Nineteen
“I’ll tryto stay out of your way,” Lyric told Bri as she tracked Ashton carrying two small, stacked boxes through the apartment door. Her eyes swung back to her club sister once he disappeared down the hallway. “I really appreciate you letting me take the extra bedroom.”
Bri bumped a shoulder against Lyric’s. “Not a problem. I wish I would’ve thought of it sooner. At night, when the pawn shop is closed, it can get too quiet and kind of lonely. It’ll be nice to have one of my sisters to watch trash TV with me.”
Bri was a reality show whore. She loved any shows that brought all the over-the-top drama, whether scripted or not.
With all the drama that Ash dealt with at Heaven’s Angels, Bri would probably appreciate working there more than Gabi. But because shedidwork at the pawn shop, she got the sweet deal of living in the apartment above it for free.
Now Lyric would benefit from that, too.
“Why is Rage helping our brothers?” The question was whispered. “It’s not like you have a ton of stuff.”
Along with Ash, Chaos and Nix were also carrying the boxes from the parking lot, up the steps, and into her new place.
The guys were making quick work of it since she didn’t have a lot to bring over from her parents’ house. Her new bedroom came furnished and the kitchen was already stocked. She was only moving clothes and personal items.
Ash really wasn’t needed, but he had insisted. Though, him helping probably wasn’t smart because she was damn sure Bri wasn’t going to let his presence slide.
Suddenly, all three bikers were crowding into the tight kitchen with them, sucking all the oxygen from the room.
“All right, sis, that’s the last of Lyric’s stuff. Headin’ back to The Iron Horse,” Chaos announced
“I’m out, too.” Nix flicked them a two-finger salute.
Both of them practically sprinted out the door. Most likely so they wouldn’t be asked to do anything else.
“Don’t you have somewhere to go, too?” Bri asked Ash with her eyebrows hiked high.
“In a minute,” was all he mumbled.
Those two had a staring contest for the longest, most uncomfortable minute.
Bri clearly lost when she announced, “Then I guess I’ll…uh…head back downstairs.” Her eyes, filled with curiosity, sliced between Lyric and Ash.
